Ladies tell me about your disney flip flops

I am a total flip flopper too!! I am not even bringing my sneaks to disney for our next trip (in 10 days:banana: )

I tried on the croc flip flops but honestly, I thought they looked hideous on me. I usually prefer leather flip flops. They can't be totally flat or I get shin splints so I like a little wedge. I just bought the croc mary janes in chocolate brown. I have been wearing them around the house and they are really comfy and look cute with capris or shirts/shorts.

There are several types of Crocs flip flops out there. I love the Capri style, but did not like the Athens style at all. The Athens have a really thick rubber piece that goes between the toes and this really bothered me. The Capri's have a rubber bottom but canvas upper and the piece that goes between the toes is really thin. I posted this after my last trip: We did 6 parks in 6 days in June 2007 (4 Disney parks + Sea World + IOA) for 5 days I wore my crocs flip flops and my feet NEVER hurt. One day I wore sneakers and my feet were killing me by the end of the day. And we are Disney Commandos that go from park opening to park closing without a break.

My DD wears the Adidas Ayuna style flip flops and loves them. They are really cushy on the bottom and sort of "mold" to your feet after a while.

I used to be able to wear cheap flip flops all day (and still wear them around town) but for Disney I LOVE my Croc Capris!

Unless it's freezing down there, all I ever wear at WDW are flip flops. I love, love, love my Teva Mush and my Montrail Molokini's:cloud9: . They are the most comfortable shoes I own. Reefs are also pretty good down there. The only flip flops that have ever given me any problems are the Teva's and Reefs with the very narrow ribbon between the toes. I prefer the nice soft wide ribbon for a toe post. Crocs are comfortable also, but to tell you the truth even though in the clog styles I prefer the real name brand Crocs, in the flip flop style the off brand Croc flip flops at Payless are more comfortable than the real Crocs, because they have more padding on the footbed. I also have some Nike and Haviana flip flops that are pretty comfortable down there, but they don't compare to my Teva Mush and Montrail Molokini's.

Were you the one that talked about the Molokini's on another thread? I think you mentioned where you bought them online and I just can't remember where you said you bought them. Please help. LOL I had them in my favs file, but it was destroyed and now I have to build my favs file again. Thanks a ton.

I may have. I got a couple pairs of Montrail Molokini's on Zappos.com and two pairs on ebay. Zappos is a little expensive, but they arrive very quickly and have a great return policy.

The Molokini's are different from most flip flops, because you heat them for just a few minutes in the oven, wear them for a few minutes, and they form perfectly to your feet. You can see every little print of your toes on the footbed. (Yes, I'm not kidding, you heat these flip flops in the oven:scared1: ). When I got my first pair they were so comfortable right out of the box, but I decided to prepare them as the instructions said. My mom swore I was going to ruin them. Oh, my God, after heating them and then wearing them, they were even more comfortable. I wore them straight out shopping and my feet felt so good and my arches so supported, that as soon as we got back my mom insisted I order her a pair. The whole time she was saying she couldn't believe she was paying that much for a pair of flip flops and they had better be good. Well, since I was ordering her a pair, I had to of course order me another pair. When they came, she said hers were perfect and she didn't think they needed to be heated. I talked her into it, but as I was putting them in the oven, she had a very panicked look on her face and was warning me I had better not burn her shoes. Afterwards the look on her face was priceless. She immediately demanded that I order her another pair. I made her wait a couple of weeks to make sure she still liked them, then I won us both another pair on ebay. My mom is a 74 y/o diabetic with very bad knees, who is very particular about her shoes. She wore her Montrail Molokini's all winter in the house and as soon as the weather started getting the least bit warm started wearing them outside. Personally, even though I love the Molokini's, I still wear my Teva Mush more, but my mom prefers the Molokini's over the Mush. If you do a search on line for Montrail Molokinis you may be able to find them cheaper than Zappos. I haven't really seen that many on ebay, but last fall there was one seller that had them.

OMGosh, your so cute and so sweet to have wrote all that, I had just PM'd you because I thought I would bore everyone to death with all my ?'s and thought you might not want put all of that on a thread. LOL! Thank you for all your information! I'm a Texan too, I wonder if we live close to one another? I'm thinking I want to order both of the shoes you suggested, I'm just a bit skeptical to order something I've not tried on as I said in my PM, I think I'll just bite the bullet and do it! LOL Now I have to figure out what color to order them in! LOL! Ahhh the choices. What colors do you have? I know what colors to get the molokini's in, but the tevas are hard for me to pick. Hummm. Thank you again Aubriee, my fellow Texas Diser! I'm jealous your getting to go so soon, well it's soon for me because I'm not going until May of 2010. :sad2: But that's OK, because I get to plan like the dickens. Thanks again.

According to your picture, I can't imagine anything looking hideous on you, your to stinkin cute! And I bet the croc flip flops looked just as cute on you as the leather flip flops. I can't do the crocs, my foot is to long for the regular crocs, plus I think they make me look even bigger thant the pooh size I am. LOL! And the flip flops aren't wide enough for my feet, I think I grew a shoe size every baby I had, I use to be 7 1/2 to an 8 and now I'm a 9-10 depending on the shoe. I looove my comfy flip flops though! I can't get enough of them! Oh, and BTW! Have a magical time in WDW!

I'm the wrong one to ask about colors when it comes to flip flops. I freely admit I am a flip flop diva. I easily have well over a hundred pairs:guilty: . I can never resist a really cute pair and am always searching for a more comfortable pair. I'm not at home right now, but off the top of my head I know that in the Teva Mush I have: two solid black pairs (yes two, I bought an extra pair I found on clearance in case my first pair wear out:rolleyes: ). I don't know the exact names of all them, but I have a pair of red/orange/butterscotch ones that are in little squares with a red sole, a pair of lt blue and dk blue denim looking narrow stripes, blue with another design, pink design, green design, a pair with a predominately red stripe and red soles, and my favorite pair that go with everything are small multi stripe with a black sole. I believe the names of the last two are maybe Balleria (sp?) and Neptune. They are my favorites along with the solid black, because they go with everything. These three pair make every trip to WDW with me. I'm sure I have some more but can't remember what they look like right now.

In Montrail Molokinis I have a pair that's oyster/brick, Neopolitan, Fruit Punch, and purple/lime. I tend to wear the oyster/brick ones the most. My mom has Molokinis in oyster/brick and blue/red. Now these do make your feet look a little bigger than the Teva Mush do. I wear a size 8 and both are true to size though.

Teva also makes other flip flops with narrow straps (Olowahu, Ulani, and Toolani). I have several pairs of these, but they are no where near as comfortable as the Teva Mush. Those narrow straps will cut into your feet if your feet swell any and if they have the narrow ribbon toe piece instead of the wide ribbon toe piece they are also uncomforable for all day walking. Believe me, I have several really cute pairs of these, but they are not good for WDW. The Reef Gingers are along the same line and again, even though they are really cute, they are not comfortable enough for WDW.

You and I are on the same page when it comes to the molokini's, the fruit punch and the purple/lime are exactly the one's I was looking at getting. The teva's are going to be a lot harder I'm afraid. I'll probably be PMing you with questions if that's OK. LOL Are the mush only in one style or do they have different straps designs? I need to just keep looking and stop bugging you about this. LOL Thank you for all your information Ms. Aubriee. :lovestruc :flower3:

thanks for all the input! I will be checking out the teva's and the croc capris. I don't know why, but I don't think the maryjanes would look good on me. Ok, off to do some online shopping!

I love my reef sandals even though I don't wear them to DL. I have this thing about my feet being dirty and wearing flip flops all day makes my feet black by the end of the day. The trick for me is the fabric tops I think.
