Ladies (or Gents) what's the most you have ever paid for a purse?

This is my obssession, and I blame my mother since she bought me my first Gucci pocketbook when I was in HS. I have a few Kate Spade (incuding my diaper bag), at least 6 Coach bags and 2 LV which my most $ one was a LV Murakami that was $700. I am envious of the person with the LV luggage, I can dare to dream

I am guilty of a few designer purchases that will remain "priceless" However I usually carry brighton purses which range in the 250 to 375 dollar range. Of course they last forever but there is always something new that I just have to have.

Lets not talk about the shoes I'll get all choked up ...

Beware, beware of any designer bags on e-bay, especially if the seller is in NY. Let's just say, been there, done that. It is true-if it seems too good to be true, it probably is. P. S. I was lucky enough to get my money back, I would never do it again!!!

That being said, I once paid $195 for a very small adorable D&B, when I got a new job. Now I can get D&B and Brighton at a 50%discount. Can't tell you how, if I did, I'd have to kill you.....

Very true. I sometimes search e-bay to see what they have out there, and you'll have no idea how many fakes there are out there. What's worse is that these sellers play them off as real. If you don't have a trained eye, you could easily mistake these for real, and most of them would go over what you'll get them for in Chinatown.

I spent $100 on a Coach from Ebay just recently. I just LOVE it, and I am sending in the registration card this week as a matter of fact.

THAT was ALOT for me. I NEVER thought I'd do it, but the timing was right and I decided I deserved it. DH was leary at first, but he relented and we went for it. He teases me that I'd sleep with it. LOL. I just might! I swear I'll never spend more than that again. DH says this is my purse now and forever! LOL! (now I just have to work on him for that matching wallet! LOL)

The most I ever paid was £335 the day I sold my house and left London forever. Mind you, a few Guccis and a couple of Prada's add up - the other day we worked out my bag collection had cost more than my partner spent on his car.

You must have bought one of the knock-offs. My cousin told me "When you go to New York, you have to whisper in the ear of the Vendor "I am looking for a Louis Vuitton" and they will bring out a bag of them". She said they are $35 and they are knock-offs.
That's okay, if I buy a LV, it will HAVE to be a knock-off because there is no way I will spend that much on a bag.

I compare it to alot of guys decking out their cars with new rims, neons, DVD players, etc. I just buy designer bags I have to save up for awhile though. Trust me, in college I don't really buy much for myself due to daily living expensive, thats just a bag I've been saving for.

Ditto! I am very hard on purses and they usually don't last very long (I am the same way with shoes). My best friend, on the other hand will drop hundreds on purses, keep them for about a year, and then sells them at yard sales for $ 5.00/each. That's insane.

Truly I could never see paying that much money on a purse for any reason but that's just me. My mil loves the $$$ purses and one year wanted to get me a nice one for my birthday. I begged her not to spend a lot of $$ since I beat purses up so badly and I would feel awful if I ruined it. I just don't get what is so great about an expensive purse, lets face it...a half eaten lollipop is still going to stick to the inside of a Coach bag as it is to the inside of my Walmart one
