Trying to get my summer (and cruise) wardrobe together before they start putting the winter coats out in the stores. Just wondering how many pairs of shoes you ladies usually take with you to cruise. I figure I'll need at least a pair of walking around sandals (maybe my Teva's), dressy shoes for formal night, and maybe one or two other pairs for dinner. Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!

Well...maybe I'm not the best to answer this, I had a suitcase pretty much just for my shoes! LOL!! I did bring one pair of nice dressy black sandals that I wore for formal, semi-formal and Palo nights. One pair for walking around the islands. I had two or three flip flop type shoes for walking around the ship. A pair of white sandals for tropical night. And a pair of black leather sandals to wear with any other dinner outfit. :) I have a problem with shoes...I admit it. ::yes::

I, too have a problem:

black microfiber pumps for formal/semi-formal
black slides/heeled for other dinners
black slides/flat for wearing with shorts/walking about
brown slides for tropical dress
athletic shoes for working out
brown sandals
pool shoes

That was better than my first cruise when I brought even more.

And don't even get me started on DD. If I can't find shoes I like, I'm always buying them for her. I think she has a pair for every outfit!

Wow! I guess I am glad to see that someone else has a shoe fetish too!

Actually, I bought some great new pairs on sale at Payless.
I found some white slide flats. Great for walking around town or on board.

I found another great black and white pair of slip on heels that go with just about anything, day or evening!

So, here is my list for my 7 day cruise.

Black strappy heels for formal night
Black and white slip on heels for semi-formal and other nights
White slip on sandals for day and other nights
Tennis shoes for excursions and parks.

I also am considering buying a pair of Teva sandals before the trip. They are great walking shoes and great for water sports!

I had
One pair of sneakers, a pair of black shoes and a pair of sandels. I hate packing shoes!

I am not a shoe person, I'd wear sneakers all the time if I could. I wore slippers at my wedding reception under my dress (except for the father/husband dances and the garter thing). I felt I needed to bring more on the cruise though. I had black sandals, beige sandals, sneakers, pool sandals and water shoes. My DD had 6 or 7 types of shoes. The suggestion I read here about bringing an over the door shoe holder really helped. It kept our shoes off the floor and in view. DH's shoes were too big for it so his got the closet floor...

Thanks everyone for the great replies! Sorry, I didn't realize I posted this on the Trip Reports board. Oooops! I'm really trying to keep the shoes down to a minimum, but geez, need a pair for this outfit and that dress, etc. This isn't going to be easy! CACruiser, I'll definitely have to check out Payless - maybe I can find some that will do double-duty.

:bounce: Lately, I've become a "shoe nut" ! I think I have 10 pr.of shoes packed for our 7 day Magic/ 3 day WDW .:Pinkbounc

You need to change your screen name to Imelda!:hyper:

Although I LOVE shoes myself especially sandals!

i took about 4 or 5 pairs of shoes for a 3 day cruise (coming from a shoe obsessed teen!) I had a pair of running shoes for onshore excursions ... old navy flip flops (highly recomend... good for almost everything!) just to wear to the pool and such. And a pair of dress shoes for each dinner outfit. If possible you should probably try to get one pair of versitile dress shoes for your dinner outfits... i think security wonders when you have practically a whole bag of shoes!! Just remember that you are only allowed a certain number of bags to check into your room...and shoes tend to take up a lot of space! Hope this helped and enjoy your cruise!!

And that was just mine. DH, DD and DS added theirs too. Seriously, we had a suitcase just for the shoes. I even had some separation anxiety over some of the others that I wanted to take but didn't. I'm proud to say I wore every last pair too!

Black strappy heels
White strappy wrap heels
Rafia strappy heels
tennies
Doc Sandles
Black platform thongs
Tropical swimwear thongs
Black dressy boots (for the long skirts and travel outfits)

DS took 5 pairs
DD took 6
DH took 5

That's 24 pairs of shoes!
