It seems shorter and shorter to me. I feel like I replace it monthly, maybe every 5 weeks! Didn't it last longer than this in the past? I know my standard is two coats, then as it's used I tend to put three on because two just doesn't do it. Anyone else feel like they're always buying mascara?

Monthly?!?! I can't even remember when I bought my last one... maybe 4-5 months ago?! Good old Maybelline in the pink & green tube.... I wear 2-3 light coats about 5-6 days a week....

Mine seems to last forever, but I know that the recommendation is to replace it frequently to prevent eye infections.

I have mascara ADD
So I have about 8 full sized tubes of different mascaras and a few of the "bonus time" sizes from makeup counters.

But...my favorite one, L'Oreal Voluminous seems to last me forever...easily 6 months. I don't think I've ever actually "used up" an entire tube of mascara. (really should replace my voluminous)

From what I hear, they need replaced every 3-6 months.

Mine last about 5 months before I get a new one. And I love L'Oreal Voluminous too.

Same here I replace mine every three months. I too use the green and pink Maybelline, and I love it. Not matter what kind I try I alwaus go back to it.

i don't think i have ever run out before replacing it around 5-6 months.

I have never gotten to the end of a tube! I replace mine every 3-4 months. I usually use Maybelline in the pink and green tube but I am now using Stila.

Seems like forever in between tubes. But this last one didn't seem to last 2 months. Physicans Formula in a tube - Very clumpy if you ask me.

I own a lot of mascara tubes too! I have mostly waterproof, because I'm always doing something athletic. I also have a few that are tinted with blue or green! They are really subtle though. I also have a few samples I've gotten at makeup counters to, especially Clarins. I love their makeup. :cool1:

I do throw them out if they look like they are starting to dry out. I have enough eye problems during allergy season, to risk getting an infection. :flower:

All right, you guys are obviously experts...do any of you know of a mascara for people with sensitive eyes? Mine start stinging as soon as I put it on, and the older I get the more NEED I have for additional eyelashes! I have had to trash so many tubes!

Thanks!!

Your eyes could be sensitive to any part of the mascara. Get an ingredient list and try other mascaras, keeping track of what's in them.

But from what I hear, L'Oreal has got some of the best ones on the market. I'd start there.

Perfect! I needed a starting point! I have been way too willy-nilly about it!

I'd say Almay...but, in general, I think their mascara sucks.

Clinique's Naturally glossy is really nice...very simple macara. Never had a problem with it and my eyes. However, it's $12 a tube. The best substitute for this is Rimmel Extra Super Last at Wal-Mart for under $3. (I actually think it's $1.97 or $2.97 heheh)

FYI...never ever ever get the Rimmel Mascara with the "comb" instead of the "bursh". Trust me...it just makes a BIG mess!

The Almay in the light green tube was okay for me. But I have to agree with you that the Rimmel products are pretty good for something cheap. I use their Eye Makeup remover. And love it.

Almay! That's what I'm using. Love their mascara. Yesterday I was in the store looking to buy a new one. Then thought I'd check to see how much mascara is actually in there. This one is in the purple tube. Just .2 oz. That's right! .2! No wonder. They had a different type with .4 oz. Guess I'll be hunting for a larger sized one, but I like this particular formula.

My friend is horribly allergic to mascara but she seems to do ok with Lancome... it's pricer then your drugstore variety but you might ask the counter for a sample.
