Ladies, do you wear makeup in the parks?????

I wouldn't at a local park, but what if DH takes a picture of me & Mickey that will hang in our living room forever?

I can't decide if I should wear it or not. I don't wear a lot - just base, powder and a little blush. But will I sweat it off? Ewwwwwwwwwwwww....

Help?!

mine stayed on pretty well except for the rain!!

I also had ahck of a time keeping my very naturally curly hair straight (I usually straighten it w an iron but it is really curly) so in some of the pics I hate my hair and I chose to wear a hat a few days of the week, which I do not like to post a lot of those pics obviously!! Florida is sooo different in terms of climate and humidity, any lady w naturally curly hair heed my warning about this!! I looked like a poodle at MGM :earseek:

No. Just sunscreen. Even mascara seems to end up all under my eyes in the heat. If we are going out to dinner I will put on some lipstick and mascara.

I am a makeup artist and wear makeup almost every day, but if I was going to Disneyworld when it was going to be hot out I wouldn't bother with makeup since it would just sweat off. Just fill in my eyebrows, some mascara, and lip conditioner. In the cooler months though I would wear my normal makeup and just go lighter on the foundation/eyemakeup.

Tinted moisturizer with sunscreen (SPF-30) and possibly mascara. I'm not there to impress anyone, nor does anyone else really care. My DH loves me for me and that's all I care about. Also, everyone sweats, just because it's not rolling down your face, does not mean you're not sweating.

Being the make up junkie I am I have some great products for you guys to try.

First of all I swear by Murad oil free tinted spf 15. It does not slide off because it is not greasy and gives you slight coverage like a tinted moisturizer...but it is a sunscrrn primarily. I bring a little extra in a tester tube because I do freshen up every 2 hours or so. I also bring a few proactive make up remover cloths in a sandwich bag. After a while I will clean off all the old sunscreen with the cloths (pre moistened n o water needed)and apply new sunscreen.

I found the best mascara. It is called Kiss me and it is sold at Sephora. It is waterproof, smudge proof and does not streak or smear or melt. It is made of a different material and it forms little tubes around your eyelashes. To remove it it just takes a little warm water and a gentle wipe. The mascara comes right off in little tubes. It is the best stuff I have ever used. It is very different from the old type of waterproof mascara...no special removers and it all comes off without tugging or losing any eyelashes.

for lips and cheeks.philosophy makes a gel lip and cheek color called supernatural. it gives a natural looking tint to your lips and cheeks. It's not a lipstick, but a gel. It comes in a tube with a sponge applicator. This stuff lasts and since it is not oil based it does not melt.

For eyeliner, I don't go heavy just a little smudged with a q tip.

Well that's what works for me...maybe you will find some of this stuff useful. The mascara is espically great...I use it all the time, since I wear contact lenses I no longer get the mascara flakes in my eyes. Truly a great and unique product..

Now to keep you hair de frizzed!!

I ALWAYS wore make-up to the parks.........my husband would gently tell me that I had streaks of my foundation running down my cheeks from sweat (very attractive). Not to mention my waterproof mascara failure........

This past August trip I traveled alone with my 13 year old daughters and I said "no way am I bothering with make-up this trip...I'm usually in very few pictures since I am the camera person anyway.........what's the downside here?" Who am I trying to impress? I even gave up on my hair. The frizzies in Florida humidity are a war I've battled with for years and never won.

The feeling was soooo liberating.....and time saving. :cool1: I would just slap on some facial sunscreen, and we were out the door each morning in record time.

Ditto. The first two trips (which were in winter Thanksgiving or Christmas months) I wore makeup- since then... nah. Especially in the warmer weather of our last two trips it REALLY would have been pointless to put on makeup- it wouldn't have stayed on long anyway! It really was nice to be able to just throw on some sunscreen, not really care about the hair and just put it in a ponytail (and believe me it wasn't pretty after having washed it the night before then going to bed with slightly damp hair- and I get the frizzies in humidity also!) and take off. Even though in the past I could put my makeup on and shower/fix my hair to look more decent in probably 30-45min... it still felt like an incredible amount of time saved. :teeth:

I never wear makeup; of course, I'm a guy  .

DW doesn't wear any makeup at WDW unless it's something fancy (like our 25th anniversary dinner at 'Ohana last May) - otherwise, all the world sees is the beautiful woman I married. I have told her that I love her however she looks, and that she looks great no matter what.

Plus, as we get older, we've noticed that we simply don't care as much about some of the trivial time-wasters that used to seem so important, particularly on vacation: makeup (her), shaving twice a day (me), shoes that looked great but were uncomfortable, etc.

To those worried about cameras: I've looked at many pictures of my late mother - some of them taken professionally, some of them typical 'candid horror' shots like on Christmas morning. And you know what? Regardless of how much makeup she was wearing - or none at all - she looks beautiful in every one.

Want to wear makeup for yourself? Great! But the people who love you don't really care about how full your lashes, or if there's that little line around the edge of your lips....

Be well.

My first trip with my DBF in 2001....you wouldn't catch me without make up on! Now, 2005 and 4 trips behind me and 3 planned....you won't spot make up even in my make up case! What changed me? My DBF did! :cool1:
How? :confused3 He looked at me right before our second trip and said (yes, I still can remember exactly what he said! :teeth: ) "Please don't wear make up this time. Every morning you would be glowing, and then you would cover it up with make up. Disney brings out a special glow in you and your more beautiful without make up!" YEP! I still got him! :cloud9:

So, no make up here. I don't even wear it hardly here at home anymore. Only on very special occasions where make up is needed. Talk about saving money. Men have it so lucky! :rotfl2:

Besideds, if someone looks at a picture of you in the future and tells you that you needed make up, just remember, it takes 32 muscles to frown and only 4 muscles to reach out and smack them! :rotfl2:

Have a great time!!!!

I hear you on the curls!

I finally gave up on straightening except for really special occasions -- all the ironing was making my hair so dry and brittle. I did find one product that makes the curls bearable and will make it through even the most humid Florida day -- it's called Zero Frizz and it's a knock off of Frizz Ease. I never liked Frizz Ease at all, but this Zero Frizz works like a charm. I use it on both mine and my DD's hair every day.

Awww! That's got to be the sweetest thing I've ever heard.

no, i dont wear anything, but i really dont wear anything at home either though

I didn't on the theory that "who was going to be looking" at me anyway?

And then....I came up Number 1 on Who Wants to be a Millionaire.

And my un-makeup's ponytailed self was up on the Big Ol' Jumbtron (!!!!!!!)

Ugh. This time I am wearing make-up (at least at MGM) :teeth:

If the sweat doesnt do in your make-up efforts, the rain will... If it isnt happy tears (for us emotional types). Now ofcourse, I dont wear any make up ever. Im a strictly hairbrush, toothbrush, floss, deoderant, perfume kinds girl. So maybe my opinion doesnt make sense

I always wear what I wear at home: a light bronzer, a subtle eyeshadow, waterproof eyeliner and mascara and some lipgloss. I usually go into the parks with my hair down, but I always keep a hairbrush and hairties in my bag so that I can put it up if I need to. I also bring a small mirror, my bronzer compact, and lipgloss with me if I need to touch up after a water ride. But I've never had any problems with "melting." Then again, I don't wear my makeup too heavy so there's really nothing to melt. :teeth: :wave2:

Seeing that many of you use bare escentuals and love it, I think I may buy some for myself. :teeth: I have oily skin and I too like to wear some makeup. When I go to WDW next I plan to wear makeup.

We went last week and each day my makeup melted w/in 1 hour. It was a steam bath with rain every few hours and HEAT. I ended up just covering some blemishes w/ concealor, using some pressed powder sparingly and waterproof mascara and did just fine. I twisted my hair up in a french twist, and secured w/ a claw-clip in the back and then put a Minnie visor on and that's how I spent my 3 days there. I looked cute w/o looking like my makeup was a mess since I had very little on and my hair was spunky w/o the humidity frizz. those are my little tricks anyway .... :flower:
