Great job updating C!!

What fun to read about your perfect day. I could use one of those burgers right about now, not to mention a sunny day! Spending the evening with you and Jen and Paula made my last night fantastic. I'm so glad I was brave enough to barge in on your dinner! It was a blast all the way through.

Here is Christine getting her present:

What a great day you had! :wizard: You are making me rethink my ADR's for May and if I should add BD. I really love and miss that Cobb salad! Love all of your pictures :thumbsup2
How did I miss those HM ears? :sad2:

Tracy

Loved your latest update - what a great way to end the day! Dinner sounds like a terrific time and the pictures that you've all posted are great! :thumbsup2

Isn't it nice to be among the last people to leave a park? That happened to us one year after we finished late at Bistro over at Epcot ... all the lights were still on and it was so peaceful that we sort of took our time leaving through the International Gateway. :rolleyes1

What a lovely day!
There is nothing better than spending the day at lounging by the Beach Club water....
Well unless you are able to top it off with good company at the Hollywood Brown Derby...
Oh wait, you did that!

Again what a lovely day!

I wish I could crawl into my computer screen and have some Cobb Salad!

It was the perfect day. Love that I have a fellow Beach Club devotee in you! Hope that next time you can make it too? October 2010?? :rolleyes1

Oh C! I'm all warm and fuzzy just thinking about your dinner. I have to admit though that being a rule follower I had been secretly freaking out when you all talked about security guards and such. I think I would have been freaking on the inside. :rotfl2:

The picture of the four of you is just wonderful, you all look so happy. :cutie:

Thanks. It was a super duper fun night. Butu there will be more. See above. Oct 2010!

Thanks for saying you'd be freaked out with the security checks. I was getting very stressed and was SO relieved when the CM's (all of them) couldn't have been more nice! For them to take the time to take pics for us instead of ushering us out of the park? Well that just put the icing on the cake and ended the evening perfectly!

One emotion:

:cloud9: SIGH :cloud9:

I have to say it was pretty darn cool!

Awesome pictures. Beach Club is such a pretty place. :)

I'm glad you didn't go off on the lady, but rather represented the DIS with grace and dignity. ;)

Good job on the empty street pictures! :thumbsup2
I'm so glad the cast members were so nice.

That's me, representing the DIS with grace and dignity. :rolleyes1 But seriously, these days you never know whose TR you'll find yourself in. You have to watch what you're wearing, what you say... ;)

Awwwww....:love: That picture of us is so awesome!!! I just loved our evening it was Disney magic and was simply perfect!!!! I can't wait to have our reunion dinner next fall and once again be the last ones out LOL!!!

Can't wait. It's a date. ADR for 20? Who else is coming? :goodvibes

What a perfect day. Relaxing at the Beach Club, dinner with great friends, empty park pics at night...sigh...:cloud9: The picture with all four of you at HBD turned out great!

Thanks! It was so fun.

Thanks, CP. It was a bit unnerving. But I had back-up with me, thankfully!

Great job updating C!!

It was definitely one of the bestest ever. :goodvibes Can't wait for part II!

Thanks for posting those pictures. they are so cute! I am so glad you joined us and can't wait to see you in just 12 days!! :yay:

Those are great pictures you posted, Paula & Heather!

Aren't they? Thanks for sharing!!

What a great day you had! :wizard: You are making me rethink my ADR's for May and if I should add BD. I really love and miss that Cobb salad! Love all of your pictures :thumbsup2

Tracy

Oh, Tracy... I do love the HBD. If you can add it, I'd heartily endorse it. But it's always fun to have reason to go back!! I'll let Paula or Jen chime in with the details but if I remember correctly those mouse ears might only be available in DisneyLAND in CA. Do I have that right??

Loved your latest update - what a great way to end the day! Dinner sounds like a terrific time and the pictures that you've all posted are great! :thumbsup2

Thanks, Bendy. It is such a treat to be amongst the last to leave. I'm going to have to try to arrange that much more often. :thumbsup2

And it is here that my lack of note-taking shall bite me in the patootie. But I do have lots of pictures! I think this was a hang out on my own day. Jen and Paula, I think, were headed to Universal for the day. I was heading out to experience more Food & Wine! And I had vowed to myself that I’d try some unusual – for me- things.

I tried the pot stickers and some white wine in China

DSC01658.jpg

Meh. I wasn’t impressed with either. I think I may have even tossed the wine. :scared1: I do remember seeking out shade like it was gold so apparently the humidity hadn’t broken yet. The Kim Possible game makes people watching in World Showcase so much fun. I love seeing the kids – and in many cases the parents!- so into the adventure.

I think the China pavilion may be one of my favorites for photos.

Have you ever noticed how hard it is to get a photo withOUT a Disney trash can in the background?? Try it sometime. There are SO many.

Coming around to South Africa maybe? I tried some beef and sweet potato. And looky there, some wine too. ;)

DSC01672.jpg

This was pretty good; hard to eat while balancing on your lap. As much as I want to like sweet potatoes, really I do, I just don’t really.

I asked myself how many more pictures of SSE I could possibly need. And proceeded to take a few more.

DSC01671.jpg

DSC01673.jpg

Making my way past Italy, how could I pass up some prosecco and meatballs? I really enjoyed the bar height tables they had set up outside the wine shop. These were the perfect stop for people watching and snacking! The meatballs were yummy. I didn’t have the breadsticks… calorie conscious and what not.

Over to Japan – love browsing around the big department store!

Much better

Viva la France!

DSC01682.jpg

And here we are at one of the best things I have ever put in my mouth. The braised short ribs in mashed potatoes. Heaven on a plate. I hesitate to say it but I did not much care for the cosmo slushie.

Oddly I had this dish a few more times on this trip and have also seen pictures in other TRs and it seems like it was served differently almost every day?

DSC01689.jpg

I’m just fascinated by the fact that, no matter what pavilion you are in, you can lose yourself and forget you are in a Florida theme park.

As I was trying to write this update, I’ve been asking myself again and again, “but where did you eat lunch??” Well apparently based on all the food we’ve seen so far, I just snacked around the World. And I wasn’t done yet.

This probably sems like a VERY boring update. No formal meals and just random wandering around WS. But, to be very honest, there is nowhere I’d rather be. So in a way, this was my version of celebrating today.

Up next: Downtown Disney and the feminine product inventor!

Thanks for reading!! :upsidedow

Great update! I loved all of the f&w pictures! Not boring at all....
We are in hopes of a fall trip next year, but it will probably be the end of October, with that said, there is also talk of a Christmas trip. Airfare and school calendars will be the deciding factor.
I would so love to meet up with you all!

Oh and a fleeting thought....
Do you think it would be possible to scoot the trash cans out of the shot?
;)

Wow Christine! Sounds like 2 fabulous days in WDW! And the 2nd day isn't even over yet!

Great updates! Loved seeing the empty streets of HS. And you could never bore me by showing me around WS!;)

You are gonna think I am crazy, but I just love the F&W themed napkins this year. They are really cute!

Can't wait to read more!:goodvibes

I love reading your TR-it's so nice and relaxed and just so full of joie de vivre and pleasurable experiences...:goodvibes

I'm seriously in love with the Cali Grill after your review...your pork looks lovely-perfectly cooked...awesome flatbreads, great desserts...That is a definite must for next year...Have to book that for DD's 16th Bday dinner...:thumbsup2 and yes Jen looks lovely...:goodvibes

Brown Derby doesn't look too shabby either...:rotfl: That photo is priceless!...:thumbsup2...I don't think you should have felt one bit rushed to leave DHS-they make the ADRs and some people eat slower especially when you are in a nice place...I love that you kind of closed the park down...;)

Your photos in WS are really nice despite your comments to the contrary...:thumbsup2

Kudos to you on your new trip and WL-WL is a great resort...oddly enough I agree with your take on Artist's Point although you can have a very fine meal there...I just prefer CG or Flying Fish...I do think Whispering Canyon can be a hoot if you're in the mood for BBQ...Have fun...:yay:

Snacking around The World sounds wonderful to me! I love your pictures, even with the trash cans!

Don't know if someone else has already said this, but I read or heard recently that Walt did research/observation at how far people would go to throw trash away rather than toss it, and he decided that there should be a trash can every 26 feet. Don't know if that is true, but I just learned that within the last couple of weeks either on a podcast or in some reading.

MeMom.... I heard that before too. Actually I thinkI heard it on the KTTK tour, now that I think of it:confused3

Speaking of trash cans... Tom (WDWFigment) who is an AMAZING photog, posted this pic on the photography boards.... The abundance of trash cans on main street really is astounding:rotfl2: Fortunately the multitude of people usually hide them:lmao:

We had the short ribs twice on our trip and both times they were amazing! They were melt in your mouth yummy!!!!!

I love the strolling around the WS and just relaxing and having some grub, great times.

Oh, what a wonderful day wandering around Epcot.

All the food looks amazing.

And you can bet your sweet cheeks I will be in Disney next fall for a Mega Brown Derby meal! How many can squeeze into a booth? :rotfl2:

I love this update, C, because it reminded me of just how much fun the Food and Wine Festival can be -- so much of what you tried, we tried also, and I have now come to believe that there can never be too many pictures of that Cosmo Slushie! :lmao:

I will keep my fingers crossed that our calendars will coordinate!!

Does one go to Disney jail for moving trash cans? Not sure I want to risk it. ;)

I can't recommend CG or BD highly enough. Definitely book for your next trip if you can! :thumbsup2

I am getting pretty excited for WL. :hyper:

Snacking around The World sounds wonderful to me! I love your pictures, even with the trash cans!

Thanks! It is not a bad way to spend the afternoon!

Interesting. That makes sense since it is always so clean. He really thought of everything!!

Wow! :worship: That's an amazing picture. I would never have dreamed there were that many trash cans on Main St! Although we know they do make pretty handy tripod stands for Wishes!

We had the short ribs twice on our trip and both times they were amazing! They were melt in your mouth yummy!!!!!

I love the strolling around the WS and just relaxing and having some grub, great times.

Weren't they positively delish?!? It's my favorite way to spend an afternoon, for sure!

:rotfl2: ... my sweet cheeks... :lmao: I'm not sure how many can fit into a booth but we can always pull tables together. I'm sure they'll be very accomodating. Next time I want to try the "phone call" trick! :thumbsup2

So that Cosmo slushie is now a permanent offering in France, I heard. And the kiosk by Mexico that had the taquitos is now a permanent counter service. Interesting that maybe they really do study the favorites and try to incorporate them. Now I just have to track down those shortribs!!
