yes thats right I believe I have lost my mind. Ok so a family on a budget is going to disney note I say going not trying to go this year I have put my mind to it! Well we wanted to camp but then thought about well im on vacation who wants to do all that work, so thinking of hotel onsite. Just then I was offered the use of a time share at vistana, while I have heard this is a great place I REALLY WANT TO STAY ON SITE, LOL Selfish I know, I mean the time share is only 7 nights so I would have to book somewhere for 3 more nights considered doing that at a resort on property, BUT will I feel like I should have stayed onsite the whole time? Will I be disappointed??? HELP ME I know Im being irrational but I know we wont be going there again any time soon and I want it to be magic, I know its whatever I make it, but...... I know stop whining! LOL

I can completely relate to your situation! One year I received two great offers in the mail for special stays, one was at the Sheraton Vistas and one was for the Hilton timeshares. I almost went with the Sheraton deal, but I knew if we went to DW and stayed off property it just wouldn't be the same. So I used codes, planned the trip during value season, and we stayed at Pop Century. I can tell you now that looking back, I am soooo glad that I found a way to stay on property and not at the timeshares. I would strongly recommend staying onsite, and not feeling a bit guilty about it. The resorts are a magical part of the vacation!

If I could get a timeshare unit at a really cheap prrice, I would probably do a split stay (a week in a time share and then a few nights on-site). Then you still have the on-site experience.

Question: How do you find out about these time share deals??? I have done time share presentations in both Canada and Mexico but not in the US. I would be most willing to do a timeshare presention in order to get a very cheap hotel room for a week.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

When we decided (curiosity) to take a look at the Sheraton Vistana Time Share, it was a nightmarish sight. Prospective buyers are shuttled to/fro all day, and invade every public space. It's a circus atmosphere, clearly evident throughout the resort.

In stark contrast, DVC operates in a much more discreet manner. If you visit a DVC property, you will "rarely" even notice prospective buyers on the premises. We took a look at Saratoga Springs Resort last summer, and the host would not "chaperone or guide" us into or around certain areas, (as not to disturb the true, vacationing guests). She urged us to take a look on our own (just as you are free to do at any Disney Resort).

We noticed the "difference" immediately. I would work towards a full stay ON Disney property, and never regret one moment/penny (IMHO). :cloud9:
There is NO substitute for the REAL thing. ;)
