Incredibly, 48 hours after ordering at BuyDig, it arrived. 20 minutes out of the box, this is what the *ist DL produced.

This is a 10-inch tall statue of St. Benedict in my home office. I need to read the manual closely and fiddle with some things, like white balance. But I'm impressed. FWIW, the setting was macro, ISO 1600.

If we get the snow they're predicting tonight, tomorrow should offer some nifty photo ops ...

Update: I tried a similar shot later, with what should be the appropriate white balance. Here:

They've got the best racket going. A camera kit that would have cost me close to $700 at B&H (factoring in tax and memory card and lens) came to just $578 at BuyDig -- and no tax, free shipping.

I was sure the free shipping would delay delivery for several days. But poof! Two days later, there it was.
