It has occurred to me that I haven't written at all about my bachelorette party and shower! Silly me!
Although we are getting married in October, I decided that I wanted to have my bachelorette party in the summer because I wanted a fun beach day with my girls. I am not one of those girls who enjoys getting all dressed up just to go to a club and have slimy guys try to me up.So instead, a few of us will get up early one Saturday in July, and drive to Misquamicut beach in Westerly, RI (about an hour away from me) and spend the day on the beach! There is a fun little restaurant right on the beach that has a bar and music that would be perfect for some drinks and lunch!
I am not sure if it's unusual for the bride-to-be to "plan" her own bachelorette party, but I am kind of, ahem, a control freak and my MOH said it was ok!!!
Now, on to the "shower". I have put "shower" in quotations because I am not having a typical bridal shower. DF and I have been living together in our house for the past couple of years. Since I DO NOT need any more kitchen gadgets or towels, I did not want to have a typical shower. My MOH (who has been my rock through all of this planning) suggested that the entire wedding party throw us a jack-and-jill shower on Saturday, July 30th. We have decided to register for our honeymoon (we will probably use travelersjoy as well as they Disney honeymoon registry because of all the website glitches with Disney). But here comes the best part...we are having this party at a brewery/orchard in my hometown! It is seriously one of my favorite places on earth (after the World, of course!) and DF is THRILLED that he gets to drink awesome beer with the guys!!!

Everything looks fabulous! I LOVE that clutch!
My FI and I own our own place too, so we didn't need to register for the "kitchen gadgets" either. We used the Disney Honeymoon site and didn't have any issues at all. Most of our honeymoon is paid for
Also, I love the Misquamicut idea. We live about 45 minutes from there and it's definitely one of our favorite summer hangouts!
