Does anyone use these or another brand? I have had it with my laces constantly coming undone!
This is something that happens about two times during any race...and time is time!

I was looking into getting a lace that locks and doesn't come undone...I have never used anything like it. It is now so close to race day that if I order them now, I know they will arrive on time but I probably wouldn't have time to really test them out.

I am probably going to order a pair anyway but was wondering if anyone uses them and what do you think? Any con's? I guess my fear is that they will snap off and I wont have any laces!

Thanks.

I help coach a 5K training program at DS11s school -- we have one boy whose laces were constantly coming untied during our training runs. During our big 5K (Turkey Trot), I got him a pair of Lock Laces and just put them with his current laces and tied the bow over the lock. Worked for the entire 5K. I would have liked to have used them entire system for him but between time constraints and the crazy cold, just didn't get to it. I found at them a local shoe store, have seen them at Shoe Carnival or Rack Room, plus Amazon sells them.

I have used lock laces with my last three pairs of running shoes. I order a new pair every time I replace my running shoes. They are great and I love being able to slip my shoes on and off without having to deal with laces that always were too long, too thick, etc.

I have tried Lock Laces and Yankz, and I prefer Lock Laces. I originally got them for quicker transitions in triathlon, but now I have them on every pair of running shoes and even my casual sneakers. They are fairly easy to adjust to, but beware - once you have them, you will never want to have to tie a shoe again!

Are you tying your shoes wrong? One way creates a granny knot and the other creates a square knot.

Funny video! I will have to fool around with that when I put my racing shoes again. My other daily sneakers I wear , I have tied knots just before the hole where the lace goes in..and leave them that way so I slip my foot in and out without touching the laces. So this is clearly a problem for me, thinking its the wax in the laces.

I never gave it a thought. By chance, I tie mine as the poster suggests...I also double tie, always. It harkens to the "stomp on the shoelaces" game kids play. Double knots don't come undone.

In the past, I have laced my transition shoes with elastic by-the-yard, from the sewing store. Now I spend time in transition just trying to psych myself up, just getting over the fact that I'm not done with the race and still have to run.

The first generation of Saucony Cortana shoes came with laces that come undone, even with double knots. Most frustating shoe laces. ever!

I use yankz in my tri running shoes, generally, but they take a bit of adjusting to get them just right...it's easy to get them too tight. I do get spoiled about tying my shoes with them, too, like Sarah said!
Also great for travelling and going through TSA. :)
