How much will Labor Day and the Tom Joyner Reunion impact on Monday, September 5, 2005 -- Labor Day, itself.

We plan to be at MGM that day and are curious what we should expect in the way of crowds.

My intuition tells me that Monday is a travel day when people return home, but I may be wrong. For instance, if Monday is the Tom Joyner farewell brunch in MGM, that is going to impact on crowds even if the day is otherwise a travel day.

Any insights would be appreciated.

Thanks,

-Michael

I've not been able to find an accurate estimate of the number of people going. Does anyone know?

I didnt know anything about it being TJ weekend, but we saw a few celebrities at SAB so we asked what was going on. Many of the families stayed at CBR but the performers stayed at Y&BC.

I believe 2003 was the first year for TJ weekend, and it wasnt that crowded.

I think Labor Day is more of a Local Holiday, so they came in for the weekend and were pretty much gone by Monday. SAB was busy and crowded that Saturday, and then they closed SAB all day Sunday for a "NASTY" problem they had. (It had to be nasty, to close the pool on a holiday weekend and were some irate guests!)

We had great crowds and weather the rest of the week.

Last year, TJ weekend and other events were cancelled due to the Hurricanes that swept thru Labor Day weekend so this is basically the 2nd year.

HTH!

Well, I hope the crowds are light at MGM on Labor Day b/c we're going to be there too. But we're planning on going first thing and then if it gets to busy to hop over to Epcot.
