Labor Day Crowds

How bad are they? What about the Friday before Labor Day? My family and I only have one day to spend at Disneyland while in California and I had assumed it would be on the Friday. My father had assumed it would be on Labor Day so we are trying to get as much crowd info as we can so we can decide. Thanks So Much.

We did a spur of the moment trip on Labor Day in 2005 and were pleasantly surprised at the low crowds. The parks were busier on Sunday, but emptied out considerably on Monday.

However, now they have the Disneyland half-marathon on that weekend, so it draws a bit more crowds. I'm not sure which day over the weekend the actual marathon takes place though. . . I'm sure others will chime in on that.

The half marathon is on Sunday (August 31) this year. I agree that the parks should be emptying out on Monday - and Disney apparently thinks that, too, because September 1 is NOT a blockout day for any of the annual passes.

Thanks for the info guys. Just one last question. Do you think they will show Fantasmic on Labor Day? I hoping for 2 shows because when I thought we were going on Friday I had planned to watch the fireworks from the hub and then watch the second showing of F!. Hopefully this still works out but regardless i'll just ba happy to be at Disney. Thanks again everyone.
