Labor Day at a deluxe or Christmas at a mod?

Another vote for December. I took my son in December when he was 11 months old and sometimes found it hot to have him in the carrier. I can't imagine doing that in August. A baby can't always sit up on her own at 5 months, limiting your stroller options. Also, I believe that sunscreen is not recommended until babies are at least 6 months old, so you will have to keep her well covered and out of the sun.

I'd go December at a mod. Christmas at Disney is so great. I would go as early in December when the kids are still in school go to mitigate the crowds.

I would go at Xmas, you get to see the Xmas magic, the park will be a LOT cooler and for resorts think hard about FQ, it is small (nice when carrying a baby) and has one bus stop.

I also think travelling with a baby that can sit up, probably has a good schedule/routine down, and eats some table food (or at least baby food) would be more enjoyable

Thanks everyone!! I'm thinking we will go with the Christmas trip, and I've never thought of renting DVC points but that sounds like a happy medium that might allow us more convenient locations without the cost of deluxe. I didn't really imagine how hot wearing a baby carrier would be in the summer, and the ability to sit in a high chair at 8 months would likely make meals a whole lot easier. Time to start researching for Christmas!

Good choice! I brought my son once in September when he was a year old. He got heat rash. Now we only go during cooler times. I know you guys will have a magical trip. Christmas is one of my favorite times of the eyar and to be at Disney too can't be beat!

Early December will also yield lower crowds, the weather will permit you being able to be outside and not worry able your little one getting dehydrated or heat exhaustion.

We just left Disney 2 days ago, and trust me it is 'not' lower crowds. It was just as crowded as the times we used to go in June. Had not been at that time since 2010, and we froze that year also - high 20's, 40's during day with wind.

Also, the weather is very fickle - 4 days we had perfect weather - low 80's - then very cold, damp, windy weather - mid - high 30's at night, 50-60's during the day. It was miserable and we saw babies crying because they obviously were not warmly dressed and just laying in their strollers.

People were dressed in coats, hats, scarves and gloves. This week it's back to nice weather. Just so anyone knows to be prepared for any kind of weather. Oh, yes, had a day and night of rains also.
