I would like to try one of these and I have no clue which one. Please help me. Have you tried any of the weight loss programs and did it work? Worth the money? Help me decide which one to go with!!
Thanks

Jenny Craig food needs no refridgeration. Think of how healthy that is for you.:confused3

Weight Watchers is my favorite. I've been on it since May and I've lost 30lbs so far!!! I never go hungry and I haven't had to give up chocolate!!!

Beware of LA Weightloss, I personally had issues with them, and I have seen TV Exposes as well, so I know it wasn't just me.

Weight Watchers seems to have the best reputation, and I plan to start there if I decide to use another plan of that sort in the future.

It's AWESOME!

My SIL and a few close friends have tried them all with success WHILE they are on the plan. However, the day they "come off", it all falls apart and they gain back their loss plus more because they didn't adjust their lifestyle in any way:confused3 Exercise and portion control are key and IMO you can do that on your own--it just takes a HUGE amount of willpower. I won't kid you--I felt hungry a major portion of each day when I was losing; but it got to be less and less after the first 2 weeks until finally, my body adjusted. And the best part:cool1: I made changes in my eating patterns that carry me to this very day in a positive way (for me it was no evening eating and more fruits) PLUS, all that $$ that would've gone to a company went into an account I kept track of on paper and made for a wonderful down payment on another WDW trip. Find your way on your own and get to a healthy weight for YOU, not a size 2 just because someone says it can be done! Good Luck and God Bless:wizard:

I lost 30 pounds following South Beach. Problem is I still have 10-15 pounds to go and cannot get motivated. Anyway, I wanted to tell you to go to the WISH boards here on the DIS. There are a lot of people on there to motivate you! Unfortunately, I keep putting off going there, but the people really helped me stay on track when I was losing. People there can definitely answer questions about most any plan. I think you have to scroll way down on the forum boards.

Weight Watchers worked very well for me. Their "points" system is pretty much just a marketable way of calorie counting so it encourages you to eat healthier foods, not just a pre-packaged meal. It is also pretty easy to maintain the weight loss because you get usted to eating smaller portions and making healthier choices.

exactly. I love Weight Watchers. Have had great success with it.

:goodvibes I lost a lot of weight on NutriSystem (very similar to Jenny Craig) and gained it all back and then some when off program. I have been on Weight Watchers for a year (tomorrow is my anniversary!!) and I really love it. Now this is not the first time I've been on it by any stretch, but this time I'm staying for meetings, journaling my food and really learning how to make good choices, but still live too. Best of luck on your journey. Just remember-it's not about losing, it's about maintaining too.

I lost 45 lbs. on Weight Watchers 5 years ago and have kept it off. I like that I can cook "normally" for my family and eat what I've made. I have a friend doing the online version of WW where you don't go to meetings. Not sure that's for me - I need the accountability of someone weighing me every week.

Good Luck!!

When I was pregnant, I had gestational diabetes and saw a dietician for it. I talked to her about what would be the best way to lose weight in a healthy way and keep it off after my pregnancy. She told me that Weight Watchers is very similar to the diabetic diet and is healthy. As a matter of fact, the hospital cafeteria had the weight watchers points marked on signs for the dishes offered in the cafeteria. It's a plan you can live with for the rest of your life and be happy.

I tried Jenny Craig in the past. The food gave me stomach cramps. A friend told me she heard that can happen because of whatever they put in the food to be able to store it without refrigeration...don't know if that is true or not, but I would not recommend that diet after the experience I had with the food.

I am a Weight Watchers lover. I have been on it since January 2006. I've lost 54 lbs. And I'm maintaining there because they teach you how to eat healthy.

My dear friend is on Jenny Craig right now and doing great. 25+ lbs in a few months.

Good luck!!

I did Weight Watchers in the past and enjoyed it. I stopped going when I moved 5 years ago and haven't lost anymore weight although I really need to but I haven't gained what I've lost back. I've still got about 30-40 lbs to shed before I'm happy with my weight. My in-laws also use WW and became lifetime members a few years ago. They've done a good job maintaining their weight.

I've looked into a diet called the 5 Factor Diet. It's all the rage out in LA right now. The only issue I have with it is that almost all of the breakfast recipes in the book center around egg whites and I cannot stand eggs. That is one of the only few foods I will not eat. It's a texture/smell thing for me. I don't mind eggs when they're baked into something. I just can't eat them in their natural form.

So I will probably start Weight Watchers again when DS starts preschool in a few weeks.

I am doing Jenny Craig right now. I lost 40 lbs on it before I got pregnant with 2nd dd. Since I had not transitioned off it, I gained alot first trimester (20 lbs) when I had to go off JC, then gained even more after dd was born (lots of stress). I thought long and hard before deciding to do JC again, but went ahead with it because 1) I like the food, 2) I need something mindless right now, and 3) I have alot of weight to lose (90-100 lbs), so I have a long time to work out my food issues before I'm going it alone. I know I'm going to have to learn to eat right on my own, and will work on learning how to do that once I've lost about half of the weight I need to lose. I may switch to Weight Watchers at that point. However, JC works for me right now.

I went with Weight Watchers too, over a year ago. The reason I like it is that it teaches you portion control and by calculating points you actually learn what it is that you are putting into your body. Who knew that one of those little sugar covered donut holes pack so many calories? You learn to adapt your lifestyle to eating properly instead of going on pre-packaged food that you will eventually stop eating and be no wiser than when you started when it comes to food.

Any way you do it, it will be hard and even harder to maintain when you get there. I have been at my goal weight now for 9 months. The thing that you have to remember is that it is absolutely doable. There is no easy way but it is amazing how you will feel walking around and not feeling self conscious. Go for it and good luck!:cheer2:

I joined Weight Watchers 3 years ago, lost 65 pounds, and have kept it off. I am healthier in my 40s than I ever was in my 30s. I eat right and I run 6-7 miles/day....and I love doing it!

I am on LAWL and love it , it works and has been the only one that I have found to work. I did WW and found it to be annoying counting points etc etc.

LAWL teaches you portion control and all about different foods. I have lost 22.9lbs since May 22nd this year.
I think once you did REAL research on them and did not listen to EVERY story you hear.
I neve feel hungry deprived of things I like and I also get 50% of what I pay back in the end if I make my goal by my goal date~ can not ask for a bettter deal. I LOVE the one on one not talking about things with EVEYONE around me. Everyone is different so what works for one person may not the next there is a REALLY good site I can tell you of that you see real feedback from all the LIFE STYLE change plans there are.

PM me and I will pass it on!

Weight Watchers gets another vote from me. I have been on it since April and have lost 10% of my body weight to date. It has not only helped me lose weight but also has motivated me to get healthy. I love it and cannot imagine going back to my old eating habits.

Good luck with your decision.

i've done Jenny Craig and Weight Watchers.

Jenny Craig is disturbing. there is a lot of one-on-one "coaching" but in the end, the day you stop eating their food, the pounds come back on.

had a friend who also did LA Weight Loss and said :

The counselor people are paid based on how much of the LA weight loss products you buy. They are not motivated by you losing weight only by your dollars. She also said it was RIDICULOUSLY expensive.

Weight watchers is easy for ME. You need to find what works for you and STICK WITH IT. The best advice I got is to forgive yourself the mistakes you make and get back on the wagon RIGHT NOW. No waiting until tomorrow to "be good."

I would recommend looking into the programs and choosing one you think will work for you, your lifestyle and your future.

Good luck!
