I'm sure this had been asked before. Anyone recently experienced Illuminations from inside La Hacienda de San Angel? I need some tips! Is the music loud enough to hear?

where should I go if I want a good view? I think some people in our party will stay at the table no matter what the view is like.
There are a FEW tables with an incredible view and a few more with an ok view. There is a room with no view at all.
You can request a window table - everyone does. But you cannot wait for one.
I believe firmly, Illuminations is best viewed from outside around the lagoon

If you are asking if there is a viewing area for the restaurant, there is not. You would have to view from your table - if it has a view. I agree with @Hopefully - book with time to get outside to find a spot to watch.

Pretty much everyone dining at La Hacienda asks for a table with a good view, but there are many tables with an obstructed or no view at all. So many ask that often La Haceinda won't take requests and you will be seated at the next available table for your party size.

You'll have to choose which is more important for your party - seeing IllumiNations or dining at La Hacienda. If seeing the show is more important make your reservation early enough that you can finish eating and go outside to find a good spot around Showcase Lagoon. Choose to dine at La Hacienda if you don't mind missing IllumiNations because you are seated at a table with a poor or no view.

La Hacienda doesn't have an area to go to for a good view. Rose and Crown is the only restaurant with a dedicated viewing area for its guests who are seated indoors or at patio tables without a view.

We have eaten there (an 8:30 reservation) and were very lucky to get one of the tables with a great view. But I agree with others that it is luck of the draw; we were willing to risk it because we could have gone back another night or just skipped Illuminations (have seen it many times), but if this is your only opportunity and/or it is important to some in your party, I would look for a different plan. It was really wonderful, though, when it works!

rephrasing! Where should I go OUTSIDE the nearby restaurant that's nearby for a good LAST MINUTE viewing spot? :)

And a really cool thing is that when the Narrator "blows out" the Lagoon Torches, they dim the restaurant lights at that moment.:)

Right next to the restaurant, in the direction of Norway. You won't get front row at the last minute, but I haven't ever had trouble seeing when behind a couple people there and you aren't crammed in like sardines.

I might checkin with our party at 8:30 and then go grab a spot. maybe we can make it back for dessert. some of our party doesn't care if they miss the show and will stay at the table.

Unless you get lucky and get a table by the window, I would plan to go outside to view. There are enough areas around the lagoon, that it usually isn't too difficult to find a good viewing spot.
