La Cantina de San Angel lunch hours?

We haven't been to WDW since they changed La Cantina in Mexico at Epcot. I read that it has the counter service option at lunch only now & it switches over to a sit-down for dinner time. Does anyone know how late we can get a counter service meal there? Will they still be serving lunch at 4 pm? TIA!

It's not lunch only. The Cantina serves lunch and dinner.

The sit-down, Hacienda de San Angel, is a separate restaurant only open for dinner.

Really? That's great news - when I read an article about it re-opening I thought it mentioned them switching over La Cantina to a sit-down for the dinner hours - it talked about it being a sit-down location during Illuminations...

There was a lot of speculation prior to release of the actual details. Cantina and Hacienda are indeed located in the same building, but they are two separate restaurants.

Does anyone have any experience with catching a good table here for Illuminations? Are the CMs monitoring the sitting area and letting you sit once you have your food? Is it a zoo around 8pm? TIA

The CS seating outdoors fills up and stays filled well before Illuminations starts. There may be the random family/group that gets up and leaves before the fireworks start but I wouldn't plan on getting there anytime after 8pm and expecting to get a table.

At least while Food and Wine is going on anyway
