l & m car rental/Travelocity

after reading about L & M on this board, I checked their site and also reviewed them thru Travelocity. Per a prior post, I thought they mentioned it would be cheaper thru the L & M site; however, they appear to be more expensive.

Is this possible?

We are going to WDW 2/16/02 arrival time is around 5:15; departinig 2/24/02 departure time around 11:00 am. We are getting two minivans during our stay. We have used Avis and Dollar in the past, but their rates are unbelievably high based on phone calls i made today to their airport location ($350 and $650, respectively for one minivan - L & M quoted on Travelocity $168.99/weekly plus $25.99 for xtra days)


My second question deals with Travelocity. I booked the minivan with Travelocity and they sent me an email - there is no TOTAL cost anywhere just the wkly rate and extra day rate. Do they provide a total rate? And what is their cancellation policy? (Let's say I decide not to go with L & M, will I get penalized by Travelocity?)

I have never booked them through travelocity. When I last checked, the rate was less direct throu L&M. All of the fees and taxes ares listed on the L&M site

I had my first ressie through Travelocity and cancelled that and did not have any problems. There was no charge for cancellation.

and we had no trouble with L&M. At first we had booked through L&M's website, but we later found the rate to be $10 cheaper by booking with them through Travelocity. I was told by the Travelocity representative that there would be no penalty for cancellation.

I don't think you can beat L&M's price on a minivan. However, try Dollar's website (www.dollar.com) and use promo codes fvg or kiss or fltv to see if you can get a better rate than the one on the phone- that's OUTRAGEOUS!! Also try www.travelnow.com or www.floridatravelonline.com for a better rate- one of these usually has specials from Budget and Dollar. Good luck!
