I just wanted to say how impressed I was by the open, frank discussion about obesity and weight loss on this week's show. It is exceedingly rare to hear people with weight problems have such an honest and in-depth conversation about this issue which is increasingly common in our society.

As a physician, I'm on the front lines of this issue on a daily basis as about 70-80% of my patients are obese and I'm always searching for new ways to approach the conversation to help them address their weight and, more importantly, their health in a way that will work for them.

One thing that I particularly enjoyed about the podcast conversation was that it really highlighted that there isn't one solution that works for everyone. Some people need to get on the scale every day for accountability while others need to avoid the scale and not focus on the numbers. Some need a buddy to discuss their progress while others do better when they do it alone. Some battle late night cravings while others have more trouble with meal planning. The list is endless and the key is to find what works best for you personally.

This is one of those episodes that I think will help a lot of people in a far more meaningful way than just planning their next Disney trip. Well done.

Thanks Steve!! I have a feeling that I will get more out of this than anyone. finding ways to manage my time and fit exercise into my day will be a big issue for me. I really hate the thought of getting up and getting out. so of course this is always on the bottom of my list of things to do.

I agree, Steve! This was one of the most honest and meaningful episodes I remember in quite awhile. Looking forward to keeping up with their progress as I work on my health as well. Really enjoying all that the new video/live episodes have to offer.

I really enjoyed it as well.
T, don't put too much pressure on yourself. You are raising a family and working a job with odd hours. I try to exercise 3 - 4 times a week. If I get more in great, if I don't - oh well. When you do go, try to get an hour in and with your diet, you will see results and a manageable schedule without feeling overwhelmed or like I used to, a failure. You will get into a groove of what works for you with your lifestyle.
I am looking forward to this journey with you.

T, don't be hard on yourself - I think you will find it easier as time goes on. Even 15-20 minutes walking outside or on a treadmill is a plus. Hugs to you for making this life change!:goodvibes
