Ktturner's Better Hurry it up Pre-trippie: Lots of Pictures!

OK, so it has been one crazy day. Bekah and Abi wanted to go swimming, but the rain hasn't let up. We were up early so we could be at the Mechanics this morning. They changed the oil, rotated tires, and checked all the other car things, including bells and whistles to make sure we can have a nice safe drive to, around, and back from Florida!

We ate breakfast at Waffle House while they were working on the car. It made me think of Hell's Kitchen! I love that show. I don't know why, Chef Ramsey is sooooo mean!

Abi ate an entire waffle, 2 eggs, 1 piece of toast, 1 piece of bacon and drank an entire 12 oz. chocolate milk! For a 3 year old, that was impressive! Maybe she'll grow some more.

As of right now in her crocs, she is just under 40 inches (and I mean just under). I went and bought her some tennis shoes (normal ones, not extra tall or anything). She'll need them in the fall anyway since her preschool doesn't allow crocs or sandles. Anyway, when I measured her in those she was just over 40 inches. SO, let's hope she doesn't freak out when they put that stick close to her head! (please, no lectures, they are her new regular tennis shoes, no harm in wearing tennies to the park, is there??)

So, Bekah told me today, when she meets princess Aurora, she's going to ask her who her kindergarten teacher was. She's hoping to have the same one! What won't kids say?

OK, so some brilliant DISer suggested printing out menus in advance so you'll know what you want. Mark likes to think about what he's going to eat. For awhile. . . SO, that seemed like a perfect idea. But, this trip is too special to print off the menus with all the internet stuff on it . . . SO, I got creative today. The menus came from all ears (I took out all the stuff about the antics at WCC since I'm not telling my family. . .I want a good laugh ).

I also stole an idea from timandlesley. It was too good not to steal, hope you don't mind!

Anyway, I made notecards that say the overview for the day, including TS meals and all confirmation numbers. I made a set for me and a set for DH. That way if we seperate, Mark will remember where to find us! I'm attaching a copy of them here (I removed the ressie numbers since this is so public). I am headed one last time for a laminating run tomorrow to laminate these and Fauna's name tag!

So, I will put the covers on front and back, then I have each day (3 to a page here) in order. I bought clips at Walmart to hold them together. After I laminate them, I'll take a picture to show you how they turn out!

Fantastic! Our family likes to plan ahead what we'll eat...or at least get an idea of the menus for each place. (Especially DS who has Autism. Planning is EVERYTHING!) I love the cards you made and the personalized touches.

Thanks. I noticed on allears.net she has lots of info about the menus as well, that might help you with your planning due to the controlled diet. One of my friends has a son with a metabolic disorder that manifests itself with Autism symptoms. She has a very restricted and measured diet for him. Vacations are generally a nightmare for her. It's good that you plan (she likes to take each day as it comes). That should help you get through the hard work of figuring the food out before it gets in the way of the magic!

She looked at me, put her hand on my shoulder and said, "Disney World is the most specialist place in the whole wide world. Everyone is real there. I can see my friends. It's the bestest place ever. I can't wait to go!"


She gets it. I'm crying. Life is good.

I will be online at the inlaws and at least one day at WDW. I'd like more, but that is a lot of money that can go to fun things instead! or mickey bars! I'd love to come in August, but we're back to work, no getting off for WDW.

I didn't have time to get her amazing template, so I just made it myself. I printed it on cardstock. Then I went out today and laminated this as well.

They each have one that folds in half to guide them through our days!

Today, I also laminated the cards for Mark and me to carry with ressie stuff and overall plan on them. I laminated Fauna's new tag and made a bag to use to deliver her to the next DISer. I cut out all the lgmhpc and poked holes in them. I figure I'll wait until I pack to attach them, I haven't pulled the suitcases out yet!
