i had to change my dates and i also changed hotel so i will NOT be needing the fridge i had it from 12/7-12/11 (i think that was my date)

Little problem:

I just received an e-mail from the person who has the fridge now. She said when she picked the box up at LS it had not box. Just the fridge with her name taped on it. : (

Part of the success of a fridge swap depends on the box, and keeping the box in good shape. Once the box is gone I'm not sure that LS will continue taking it.

Is there anyone who is driving to Pop who could bring a new box for the fridge?

OH no, I hope someone can bring a box soon, would hate to see it come to an end over a box

WE NEED A BOX FOR THE FRIDGE!!!

I cannot stress how important a box is in the success of a fridge swap. It is very likely that if we don't find a box SOON the fridge will go missing in LS. So if anyone is driving down, renting a car, wants to check with Pop to find a box, ANYTHING, it would be GREAT!

Is it possible to buy a plain box that the fridge will fit in or maybe Lowes, etc has boxes for their displays someone can get for free?? With school starting soon, is anyone planning on buying a fridge for a college student & that box could be used? I'm just brainstorming for possible solutions

Yes. All possible. Someone just has to volunteer to DO it. Maybe one of the next few swappers will volunteer to do it. Otherwise the fridge may not be around a lot longer.

I know that the last swapper and the next swapper flew in to FL, and have no rental car. They have been checking with Pop to see if there is a box there that will work but so far no luck.

Here's an idea for the box. I know I don't get it until the 19th of Sept, but it appears to be able to be "handed off" between now and then. I can ship myself some things and use a bigger box to hold the fridge when I leave. What kind of box do I need to send? Anyone have a clue? Does it need to sit on styrofoam?

I wonder what it would cost to ship an empty box to a swapper to put the fridge in?? The dimensions of the fridge will be needed in order to get the right size box. The fridge I used last yr. didn't have styrofoam in the box. I know I won't be there until Dec., but the fridge swap is a life saver for my family, so I want to do what I can to keep it going.

I can't help with the actual shipping unfortunately as I live in the UK and won't be in the US until December, but I am willing to help in anyway that I can, I'm sure all the future swappers would be too? Perhaps we could all be pm'd?

I have no idea what it would cost. The box would have to be fairly big. If one of the next swappers could get the fridge's dimensions that would help.

Also, maybe the next few swappers can PM each other to figure out how to get a box? I can only do so much from where I am. You guys are the ones who will be at Pop in the near future so it's going to come down to future swappers.

Thanks for all your hard work in keeping this thread and swap alive. I looked at some other threads and it appears that some have it in a Uhaul box. Again, I will keep reading this thread and if there hasn't been an update for the fridge situation, I will send a box down.

I just changed hotel for my fall stay so I do not need the fridge anymore.

My reservation for the fridge was 10/26 to 11/15.
