Wow, I guess there is free dining in September, it's popular all of a sudden.

I've gotten numerous requests lately for mid September, but it's blocked out for Krystal (the one who started this swap). She may have to cancel, and if she does, the first person who asked would get first dibs. However, until she knows for sure if she's going, she gets that slot.

At least I know if she cancels at the last minute, the spot would easily be filled.

Anyone out there need a fridge for July, it's FREE! Other goodies included, like a coffee pot and toaster . . .

I just got a call from someone at Pop (I'm thinking she was a maid) and she told me that the fridge and several appliances were left in the room. I got her cell # and told her I'd call her back, but there's not a lot I can do from here. Is anyone at Pop now that could get the fridge?

The girl who has the fridge now should still be there - she checks out tomorrow. I have called her cell phone to see what happened, but I haven't heard anything yet. I'll keep you all posted.

I haven't heard from Wendi (current swapper) yet, but I did talk to the housekeeping manager at POP. She said that it might get packed up and sent to lost and found. I don't know what condition it all will be in and if the decorated box is still OK. So you may have to check lost and found and see if you can find it. Let's wait a few days and see if Wendi can tell us what happened. Hopefully we can keep the swap going.

The manager did say that Wendi checked out today, so hopefully it wasn't an emergency departure.

I am the next person to arrive who has reserved the fridge, and I don't arrive until Saturday night April 26, 2008.
I am still hoping the fridge will be around by the time I arrive, but I doubt it, lost & found won't normally keep something for a week.
Has anybody else heard anything?

This is all new to me, as this is the first time we are staying at WDW, but if someone called lost and found and explained what happened, couldn't they just send the fridge to luggage services? Also, I do want to say that it was super nice for the maid to call and report what happened. I am hoping for some pixie dust too!

They are sending the fridge, Toaster, and Coffee Maker to Luggage services at the Pop Century attention my Name & Reservation Number. I will get them when luggage services opens on Sunday Morning because I arrive after they have closed for the day.

I will bring my laptop and post an update once I have the fridge, with any luck we will be able to keep this Swap going.

The swap died with me. The morning we were checking out I went down to Luggage Services to get a cart for the fridge and to set up our other luggage to be sent to BCV. The lady@ Luggage Services said they would bring the fridge downstairs when they picked up our luggage. I said great but please remember the box stays @ POP. She said no problem. My husband called down a few minutes later and made sure they knew the box stayed @ the POP. Well we go on about our day and when my husband drops me off @ BC to checkin I see the POP luggage man bringing my bags and the BOX on the luggage cart to the BC bellman outside. I explain to him that it belongs atPOP and show him Wendis name, # ad res# on the side of the box.He takes it away. I feel terrible. I should have just brought the fridge down myself. I hope it is OK. Ida This happened on the 13th. I talked with Wendi over on Tourguidemike and she said she never got. What day did you get the phone call Krystal? It was with my luggage not left in the room by itself and it was packed up.How didthe housekeeper know there were other appliances with it?Strange.

OOh that is weird. I got the phone call on Friday afternoon (the 18th). The lady said:

Her: This is x from Pop Century North. When you checked out of your room you left a fridge and several small appliances behind. What did you want done with them?

Me: Uhhhhhh. (Pause) Actually, someone else is using them right now. Can I get your phone number and call you back?

Her: (Obviously not very happy about things being left behind and me not being able to give her an answer on the spot) I can, but I'm getting off work in about 15 minutes. It's xxx-xxx-xxxx.

Me: Ok. I'll make a phone call and find out what's going on and get back to you.

I then got a hold of dkferret and gave her the above info. I'm kind of thinking that maybe the people from Luggage services saw the name on the box (Wendy's) and when the box was not picked up by her check in date (or by several days after) they turned it over to someone who then called me. As far as I know if the fridge is not picked up by the next swapper then it goes into limbo for a while or just gets permanently lost. Sounds like maybe the people who were suppose to take it TO Luggage services put it into limbo for a while so that's why Wendy didn't get it. Then it came out of limbo when the lady from Pop called me. Just a thought.

Well, I'm glad it's back on track now. Phew! Good job Douglas getting that straightened up! Let us know how it goes when you pick it up.
