Krystal's FREE Pop swap! CLOSED-Thank you Pop Century for adding fridges!

Our swap has officially started! Turning40withmickey will be flying the fridge down with her and then ME will deliver it to her room. So as soon as she arrives at Pop and gets the fridge from ME our swap has offically started!!

We still REALLY, REALLY need to fill the dates from Sept. 29-Oct 12th. If we don't fill those dates at least partially we risk Pop loosing, or throwing out our fridge. So pass the word that we have those dates open. We still have some time, but I know other swaps are also trying to fill those dates at the beginning of Oct. too.

Also, I've sent all of my August and Sept. swappers an e-mail with the protocol for swapping the fridge as well as relevent contact information. Please let me know if you have not recieved this e-mail. I think I titled it "Your fridge info."

Thanks Krystal for all of your work. I'll chat it up on the the other threads I visit and maybe we can get a taker.

Welcome splash5 to our swap!!party:

Just confirmed you for Oct 5-12th! Thanks for filling in our gap!! :goodvibes

Check out the first post of this thread! I just added some pictures of our fridge, or rather a picture of the box with the fridge's photo on it and a pictue of the decorated box. So the pic. of the decorated box-that's what it will look like when you get it.

turning40withmickey is now at Pop using the fridge. She didn't open the fridge box before arriving at Pop because she didn't want the box to get damaged any more than necessary while in transit to the pop. We should have a picture of the fridge soon though, and when I get one I'll post that too.

Just talked to turning40withmickey! She said they had NO problems transporting the fridge down to WDW. She said that the fridge box will fit easily under the sink or on the top part of the closet. And the fridge plugs in by the TV. She also said the box is in great shape and that the duct tape and disinfectant wipes will be in the box. My phone # and name is also taped to the box (and written on the fridge) in case there are any problems.

She said she's having a great time, Pop is awesome, and the weather is super hot! Over 100 degrees! Whew!

So all looks well. She's made arrangements to swap with SchotzieDB and she's going to take a picture of the fridge so I can post it after she gets back. Everything is falling into place so nicely.:wizard:

Just updated the availability calendar on the first page. We now have these dates to fill:
Sept 29-Oct 5th
Oct 13-15th
Oct 29-Nov 1st
Nov. 10-27th Big gap we need filled
Dec. 7-9
Dec. 15-19th

That's all the availability we have right now for 2007. Looking pretty good. All of those gaps are less than two weeks so I think we're set as long as the majority of our swaps are in person.

Anyone need Sept 29-Oct 5th? Or Nov. 12-27th?

Quick update: Fridge is on to the second swapper. No problems.

My computer is down so I may not be as quick with repies the next few days.

Also, december switched resorts and won't be in the swap anymore. So we need to fill November dates and I also need someone to take over the swap when I leave for vacation. Hopefully a later swapper. Anyone interested? Most of the work is done already.

And I want to apologize to everyone. We are in a money crunch right now (dh is out of work and I should cancel the trip, but I'm just not going to!). I saved $339 by switching to Sports. I stayed at Sports last year, and loved it, but was really looking forward to staying somewhere different. I hope the dates can be filled quickly.

Don't feel bad! I'm sure we'll fill the dates-you've given us enough notice. And that's a big savings-you'd be a fool to pass that up. Besides, there's always the next trip to stay at Pop right? Hope you're able to get in on an All Star swap.

Hi swappers! We are home, and had an absolutely wonderful time at POP. I am sure you will all enjoy it, very fun, festive, exciting. The fridge travelled fabulously, not even a dent in the box, and it was cool for us to watch through the plane window as it got loaded onto the plane (you couldn't miss that colorful box!)

We had the meal plan and WAY too much food, the portions are huge and we ate like piggies. I always had several drinks to stash in the fridge, since we used the refillable mugs and took a bottled drink "for later". The fridge is lightweight enough to carry to the next swapper, shouldn't be any trouble. It does collect water in a bin underneath, you should empty that before you pick it up or you will get a little wet......it is meant to collect the water there sort of like a dehumidifier.:boat:

I meant to leave you all a small hot water pot, but forgot when we swapped the fridge. We found everyone to be extremely nice, the POP workers and concierge, all the CM's at the parks, the bus drivers:grouphug: ... POP's pools are awesome, nice and warm, the Everything Pop store has everything you could want. The counter meals at POP were great, huge sundae for dessert or that tie dye cheesecake and more. We adored the coke icee and blue icees, great for the HOT August weather we faced. Also, I got lots of special attention for my 40th birthday at all the restaurants, lots of singing and cupcakes! :bday:

Have a great time, and enjoy the fridge in your room, swappers! This was my first time on property, so first time as a swapper, but it certainly won't be the last! Thanks Krystal, for all of your hard work organizing!

Welcome back turning40withmickey! I'm glad you had fun! When I talked to you on the phone I was planning on telling you Happy Birthday, but I just spaced off I guess. So Happy Belated Birthday! Thanks a lot for getting the fridge swap off the ground. I couldn't have done it without your help! :thumbsup2

Just curious. . . what section did you stay in at Pop? Did you like that section?

We were in a 70's building, the one with the Big Wheel. It was not far to the food court in one direction and a shortcut to the busses in another. It was NOT a preferred room, but really close to everthing, we thought. It was very near the Goofy jet spray area, which is near the food court, too. I had seen lots of pictures online before we left, but I was surprised at how close everything was. We mainly used the hippie dippie pool, but it was not a long walk to any of the pools. We used the morning extra magic hours each day, and found no lines at all at the food court for breakfast (it did get busy at the evening meal time!) I heard someone else say the lines were horrible at breakfast at the food court, but not if you are an early riser! The food court had lots of offerings, we loved the sundae's (three scoops of you pick the flavor, toppings, whip cream) for one snack credit or as dessert with your meal (we had the dining plan). The icee machine was not working the day we arrived, but was up the next day and we certainly got our money's worth in the refillable mugs with that! We loved everything about the resort, so bright and fun. It did seem like our bus station was always the farthest away, but the wait for the busses was not bad, they come quickly (and in that heat, it was so nice to step onto the air conditioned bus instead of walking across the black sahara to a hot car!) Wishing all of you a fabulous trip! Sherry

Due to the recent Disney room discounts we've had some swappers upgrade to different resorts for their stays later this year (BTW-for those of you who have just dropped out of the swap, thanks for letting me know ASAP. That helps a lot. :goodvibes ). That leaves us with some open dates. Right now we have these dates available:

Sept 29-Oct 5th (someone is interested, waiting to confirm them)
Oct 13-15th
Oct 29-Nov 1st
Nov. 10th-Dec 9th (Big gap)
Dec. 15-19th
Jan 5th onward open

Also, I'm still looking for someone to take over the swap when I go on vacation in mid September. All of the work is done-the only thing that would need to be done is keep track of confirmation info and PM people when they have questions about the swap. If I can't find anyone to take over I WILL set an end date for the swap at some point. Once my vacation is over I really won't have the time, energy, or interest to continue coordinating this. I'm going to be interning, plus working my already 50+ hour work week-so I'm going to be pretty busy without the swap. So if anyone would be kind enough to take over the swap on or around Sept. 16th it would sure take a load off my mind.

Welcome momandseandodisney and dkferret to our swap!!:grouphug:

Don't forget to add my e-mail address to your e-mail address book. And let me know if you have any questions. :goodvibes

To everyone else: Please check the first post for current openings. They change so often-but the first thread is always up to date.:wizard:

OOOHHHHHH, I'm hoping that November gets filled up so I get my chance at the fridge. Where are you November Poppers?????:confused3

Just had a swapper decide not to participate. So now Sept. 29-Oct 5th is open. Anyone need those dates?

Today the fridge will move on to dward1961 (our third swapper). Maybe SchotzieDB will update us when she gets back on how the fridge swap worked out for her.

Still have some openings. Check post #1 for a current list of availability.
