Korissa's Magical MAW/GKTW PTR....4 HUGE Big Give (2-18-11)..page 40

You learn something new every day, eh? I didn't realize they could do it bedside. Pretty cool. My daughter could only have her PICC line in her left arm too, for whatever reason they had so much trouble threading it through the right arm and just couldn't get it to go. I hope the procedure is easy enough on her and that she handles it okay. I hope the TPN and entire stay is short lived, though I know TPN can really delay things. Thinking of you guys...

Kris, I'm so sorry to hear that the flu is passing around to all the children. If they were going to get it, it's better now than during your trip. I know you all will be so ready for this wish trip! Praying for a speedy recovery for all! Take care of yourself too!

Kylee tested positive for Influenza B. Her fevers has been down today, but creeping up again. These high fevers are really draining her. Today is also day 8 of no BM:scared1:. I think being sick is shutting her motility more. Tomorrow she is going down to get her PICC line placed. They are going to start TPN tonight since she can't eat anything. Really she hasn't even asked to eat. I have a feeling this is going to be a long admission:sad2:. I'm also feeling bad that Korissa was sick last week and just chalked it up to her normal sickness:sad1:. She probably had this too. Thankfully not as bad as Kylee... or I would of brought her in. Come to think about it..Korissa did go to Ped and she was sick then and I said something, but the Ped didn't do anything. Now I'm mad:mad: She should of been on Tamiflu. Now Kerri is sick. Thankfully she and Steven has Ped appts(first visit with this new Ped) and I'm going to tell Scott to tell ped to put them on the Tamiflu. They are starting Tamiflu on Kylee tonight.

I'm so sorry to hear that she is still so sick.

Thinking of you guys.... Hoping that she starts to feel better very soon!!! Sami is sick right now with high fevers, now she has a horrible cough, she was vomitting yesterday. She had the flu in Dec but I am wondering if you can get it twice in one season because she started with the aches & pains last night...

I hope that everything turns around for the better very soon....

I know the saying is that God doesn't give you more than you can handle, but I think he did. Steven has been complaining his back has been hurting for a few months. He had a Ped appt this morning and Scott took him. He mentioned this to the doctor and she looked at his spine and she was stunned. She said he had severe scoliosis. She said she wouldn't be surprised that it wasn't a 45 degree curve. She is putting an urgent referral to see an Ortho doctor. The Ped said he will most likely end up in a brace for 1-2 years or have surgery done. I'm not sure how much more I can take. :sad1:

Oh my goodness, you guys just can't catch a break.

I hope he doesn't need surgery. Still praying for you guys. :grouphug:

I am truly sorry. :grouphug: Lisa has scoliosis as well and they are keeping a very close eye on it since it began at such a young age. I am happy the doctor was FINALLY able to see Steven's so he can get the help he deserves! People love to say God doesn't give you more than you can bear...I have been known to say a time or two I think He has over-estimated me this time. Then, just as you will, I dig my heels in and find that internal strength that you have definitely shown in many situations. :grouphug::hug::grouphug::hug:You CAN handle this SuperMom!

How is Kylee? Praying for you all!!

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. ~Isaiah 26:3

Oh Kerri, I have no words, but I'm sorry....I hope they can do something for Steven and get his pain under control...am continuing my prayers for your family, wish I could give you a real hug, but this will have to do :hug::hug::hug::hug:

Kris, I'm so sorry that you have been given something else to worry about! It's good that Steven will be treated for his back pain now. Praying that the brace will help and surgery can be avoided. How is Kylee doing? Your family really, really need this wish trip to just get away from doctors and hospitals and to have some fun memorable time together. Hugs and prayers for you!

I am so sorry that you are experiencing all this! We will keep your entire family in our prayers! HANG IN THERE! (Easier said than done, I know...)

How is everyone else?

Lynn

So sorry you have yet another worry on your plate. :sad2: I hope that the brace does some good for Steven, and he can avoid surgery. Wondering if Kylee is feeling any better?

When it rains, it pours.... there is a lot on your plate and I can imagine that it is overwhelming.... I am really hoping that Steven only needs a brace...although that is a very difficult path. Just take it one day at a time...that is all that anyone can do.... I'm so sorry, but on a positive note...you know what it is and can make informed decisions in regards his care...

Thank you everyone for your kind words. He is my healthiest child and just to get this bomb thrown at me. I thank each and everyday for my kids. I just hate seeing them suffering. Sorry I can't multi post. I'm on my phone. I guess we will see what the Ortho has to say. Maybe it's not as bad as the Ped thinks. Praying it's not.

Scott took Korissa to get all her blood work done. Now I sit here hoping everything is ok with the blood test.

Kylee... She is doing better. Still has a nasty cough and stuffy nose. We are still on isolation in a private room. She had 3 BM... Or I should say liquid poops yesterday. Still no chunks. I know... You alll wanted to know that.... Lol.. Still no talk of discharge. I'm sure we will be here over the weekend. Oh.. She got her PICC line in yesterday. She slept most of the day. The best news... No more pokes. They drew blood at 4:30am and she didn't even know it.

Thank you for keeping my family in your thoughts and prayers.

Hope all goes well with Steven's and Korissa's appts!

Happy to hear Kylee had BM's that must be a relief (don't worry about talking about it!) and that the PICC line worked too!

keeping you all in our prayers

checking in to see how everyone is feeling today....continued prayers, pixie dust and :hug::hug::hug: being sent your way!!

Thinking about you guys, I really hope everyone is on the mend soon. I hope the back brace helps him feel better so he can avoid surgery. I'm sorry so much is going on right now, you sound very overwhelmed. :(
