I'm thinking of trying a korean spa when we go to Las Vegas next month. I don't really know what to expect. I heard somewhere that they slap you around.....guess that means they are a little rough?

I've heard people say that they love them but just wondered if anyone can tell me what to expect. Anything I should be prepared for or ask for? The one that I am planning to go to is the Imperial Spa (http://www.ispalv.com).

My friend frequents one around here. It's women only, and you have to walk around with nothing on--at all. I haven't worked up the courage yet, but she loves it. The soaking baths are apparently wonderful, and she gets the scrub. They really scrub every part of your body and you come out with the softest skin. I don't think it's particularly relaxing to get it done, but the soaks before and after are.

She keeps telling me that no one cares about my "twin skin" or other annoying things post pregnancy, but I'm not sure I'm quite there yet :lmao:

Note to self: No Korean spas!

I actually went to that spa a few weeks ago. I really enjoyed it. The place was clean and everyone was extremely nice. The locker rooms are single sex, and everyone walks around nakie. Well, I will say the Korean women did. Myself and two friends kept out outfits on in the locker area. There are 3 jacuzzis in the women only area, plus a salt room and a sauna. Clothing is optional in those areas.

Upstairs is coed. You must wear your outfit they give you. Talking with the guys we went with, the male locker room was just like the female. Upstairs their is a clay room, jade room, clay ball room (my fave) lots of lounge chairs and tvs. Plus their is a juice bar, small restraunt and a movie theater.

The massage was well worth the money. If you read my other posts in other threads, I did get "slapped" around a bit. But it felt good. The three others who had massages all were different. One had a real soft smooth massage, and the others had regular swedish massage. Mine seemed to boarder swedish and deep tissue. There was one time it was uncomfortable, I let my massuese know, and she stopped and worked it differently.

I plan to go back. I may try to get in later this week when I am there. IF not, I am going to go in a few months when I go back.

I will warn you though that they do not have any issues with nakieness in the locker rooms. It can be a shock, but they don't mind. And its fine if you want to keep your stuff on. I talked to a few women in the sauna area who told me it was fine if I wanted to keep my stuff on, my "americans" do. The shower area is also completely open. I plan to bring at least bathing suit bottoms next time. I am open, just not that open.,

If you have any specific questions, please feel free to pm me.
