I searched the threads about where the good sushi is and many times Kona showed up. I looked at their menu and it only has one sushi thing. Now mind you - 1. I hate sushi 2. I have no idea if there is another name for it 3. I'm only looking because my dh LOVES sushi and I never take him out for it. We have a sitter for one of the nights and now I need to get a reservation. California Grill has a huge choice of Sushi on their menu, but Kona only has the appetizer one.

Even tho I like Kona, if you have a night where it is just you and your dh, I would make adr's for California Grill. He gets his sushi, you can get something you like, and you have dinner at a fabulous restaurant! :thumbsup2

I know, but it is so expensive! I also am afraid I won't be able to get reservations. I still need to figure out the exact time that my cousin is coming over so we can go.

In October, DH and I ate at Kona and had sushi. They do have the sushi bar outside of the restaurant...you can sit at the bar and order. You can actually eat in Kona and order off of the sushi menu. I believe we ate sushi as appetizers.....very, very good. IMO, the sushi was better at Kona than at Japan in Epcot.

My DH and I absolutely LOVE the Kona Sushi bar. My favorite is the volcano roll--- I crave it all the time, now that we are home. We have been the past 2 years, and it is definitely on our list of Must-do's this summer!

I am only replying because sitting and CG struck a chord. We were there last week and waited one hour past our reserv. time of 7:45 to get seated. Food was good, but I was so concerned about how late the kids were in the Kids' Club at WL that I couldn't enjoy myself. Plus, they kind of drag out the service (even though we asked to speed it up) since it's a "fancy" place.

On the other hand, when we went to Kona (again w/ kids at Kids' Club in Poly) we were seated fairly quickly, served efficiently and still had the best food of our trip, including the sushi which my DH loved.

If he really loves sushi.....I would do Cali Grill or Wolfgang Puck's has a sushi bar also. That way you can get what you like and he could get really good sushi.

We had sushi appetizers also when we were there in September. It comes from the sushi bar (which is the Kona Coffee bar by day). And we completely agree this sushi was GREAT and better than Japan in Epcot. We have had several very good meals at Kona. Enjoy!!

Wolfgang Puck has great sushi! I once had the sampler boat, which contained all the different kind of suhshi and sashimi they have and it is huge! Couldn't finish it even with the help of 2 friends. But it was really good.

Just ate @ Kona Sunday. We love it.The sushi sampler is 4 pieces of 3 types of roll.Decent value and tasty. The sushi bar rolls are well done and had 8 pieces per roll but are a little higher priced, not crazy tho.
Kona has some of the best desserts anywhere. The food is pretty good,we took some friends and now they want to go every trip.
