Ok all you Kona Cafe experts, I need your help!

Our group of six is meeting up with my aunt, her daughter and son in law for lunch one day. Since my mom's favorite resort is the Polynesian, and my aunt also loves the Polynesian, we decided to make our reservation at Kona Cafe.

I'm a vegetarian so I already know what I'll be ordering, but tell me what you all recommend - appetizers, entrees, desserts, whatever! Also, how is the mahi mahi? My mom's not a big fish eater but thought it sounded interesting.

We had the filet (which is no longer on the menu) and the Tuna oscar (which was very good). The desserts were also great...Bananas Foster Creme Brulee!) It's too bad that the filet is gone. It was just s good as the filet we had at Le Cellier and came with some lovely asparagus as well as potatoes.

Kona' is almost always on our ADR list. The scallops are great, sticky wings for an appetizer are a good choice. All of the deserts are awesome. Deserts are probably the best thing at Kona'

Amen to the sticky wings - YUM. Sushi bar is now available, which is great. DW LOVES the Kona salad. Potstickers are good. Shrimp and Scallop dinner is probably the best dish on the menu. I love the Kiddie Kone dessert! It is really all about the Lapu Lapus though! :rolleyes1

We go to Kona every trip; last time it was not so good. We all had the strip steak with pineapple--not so good. In the past, our food has been very good. Sticky wings are quite good.

We were just there two weeks ago...sigh...I FORGOT TO ORDER THE STICKY WINGS!!! I just realized that when I read this post! Anyway, it is always on our must-do list. I used to get the filet but after it was dropped from the menu I started getting the Teriyaki Steak which has always been delish, except for this time. It was quite tough and filled with gristle. Everything else was very good and my companions enjoyed their meals very much. And the server was able to get me the bread pudding from Ohana which is my favorite dessert at WDW. (Sometimes they can, sometimes they can't.)
I will go again and hope that the bad steak was just a fluke.
