Before kids DH and I LOVED Kona for dinner, but we haven't been with the kids because there's not much interesting for them there.

We've never been to Ohana and we are wondering if we should try it or try Kona with the kids in October.

Both DS and DD will be 3.4 years old. They'll be a little young for the events at Ohana but might enjoy watching. Which would you pick?

I would definitely choose 'Ohana for dinner. Personally, I just think it's a little more kid friendly. The food is good at both restaurants, but we prefer the food at 'Ohana a little more. Plus it's nice if you have any big eaters in your family - my husband and son definitely fit in this category. :thumbsup2 Our daughter (1) was watching everything and everyone. There was plenty of things going on in the restaurant to keep her entertained.

Whatever you choose, I'm sure you'll have a great time. :goodvibes

Gotta vote for O'Hana with kids or without. I do think it's the more kid friendly of the two though. Lots going on to entertain them even if they're too young to join in.

The food at Ohana and Kona dinners are both great. Ohana is served Family Style, so you don't have to get up to run for the buffet. They also did a coconut rolling game at Ohana, which would probably be too old for your children. The benefit of Kona would be that it would be faster than Kona.

We enjoyed Ohana, but we LOVE Kona. I think Ohana is definitely good enough to try, but overall I think Kona is better (in fact, it's the best I've tried on Disney property).

One more question....what age is Ohana and it's games good for? We'll have two 3 year olds and I wonder if they'll be too young to appreciate it?

Ohana for sure! I would think 3 year olds would love the coconut races and antics there.

My choice of the two for dinner would be Ohana. We like Kona for breakfast.

I would agree with 'Ohana as well. Your kids will definitely enjoy the fun although you may want to get up and help them or they might be a bit overwhelmed.

The food is great at Kona though, as you know, and I would go there as a backup if you have trouble getting a reservation at 'Ohana which can be difficult to book.

I hate to be the one and only...:duck: but I would choose Kona a million times over Ohana.
We had dinner at Ohana in Dec and it was the worst meal for all of us. The food was really bad. Kona obviously isn't as *fun* as Ohana but the food is much, much better for both kids and adults.

Your not the only one. We use to love Ohana about a decade ago. We no longer recommend it to others and it remains popular in our eyes due to its location, theme, and ddp. If it was a restaurant outside of Disney it would be interesting to see if it could stay in business.

Kona does not use non-food gimmicks to get customers, like Ohana. We select Kona, since we desire to dine where service, food preparation and preparation are consistenly good.

Hands down for us, Ohana! It's a must do every time we hit Disney, with and without kids! My youngest was 3 when we were there last and she loved participating in all the activities there!

We've eaten at both and prefer Ohana's.

My 2 year old loves the coconut races, limbo, etc. although I do go with him to help.
