Trying to decide between Kona Cafe or Grand Floridian Cafe for dinner. What is your experience. Thanks!!

We most generally eat breakfast at Kona but today I actually made a dinner reservation for August this afternoon. I have been so impressed with the breakfast that I thought "Why not try them out for dinner". I have only eaten breakfast at the Grand Floridian Cafe and we like Kona better. Hope someone answers your question because I am interested too.

We really like both a lot, but Kona is a MUST for dinner every trip. Very good food, lots of variety and great desserts!!!:goodvibes

Kona is a must for us too. Their filet is fabulous! :thumbsup2

Thanks so much for the input. :thumbsup2 They didn't have a table at Grand FL Cafe anyway, for the time we wanted. So we booked Kona. Now I am really looking forward to it. :woohoo: THANKS!!

Haven't eaten at Grand Floridian Cafe, but Kona is a must do for us every trip:goodvibes The filet and prime rib are AWESOME:thumbsup2

We love both of them for dinner. I think I would have to give the edge to GFC. I think you will enjoy either one.

We have eaten dinner twice at Kona Cafe. It was outstanding each time. It is a quick ride over from MK. Service is very good and since it is a smaller dining area it is less hectic and a bit more laid back than other, larger places. We have never been disappointed with the food, good steak and seafood dishes. The desserts were excellent. The children's desserts were out of this world - huge waffle cone with ice cream standing on a bed of cotton candy with chocolate palm trees sticking out of the ice cream.

They are different experiences. The Grand Floridian Cafe is a typical casual dining environment at a nice hotel/resort, with the traditional fare. Kono is a theme atmosphere with a theme menu, including the above described desserts.

If you are seeking the Disney Experience, then Kono is your best choice. If you are seeking a quiet break from the day, then Grand Floridian Cafe is your best choice.

Either way, you are at Walt Disney World!

We have eaten at both locations.

And we really like Kona Cafe the best. We've been several times and always find the food wonderful, along with the atmospere and the wait staff.
We have also celebrated 2 birthday's there and it was a wonderful experience too. The last time we were there we noticed they put in new flooring that has Hidden Mickeys all over them. Made for great pictures!
We will make it a point to eat there on every trip! :goodvibes

Food -- Kona
Ambiance - GF Cafe.

Kona is a glorified coffee shop as far as ambience goes - and looks it.

OP: Here's a link to one of my pages with a lot of pictures from dinner at the Kona Cafe. We were with some friends of ours who live in Florida and we had the BEST time! Our server Debbie was outstanding, too. In some of the pictures you can see the actual restaurant in the background. Sure, it's not fancy, but it's a nice little restaurant with excellent food and a relaxed atmosphere! Enjoy! :)

Have dinner at Kona. DH and I did it last trip and it was great. ADRs are a must. The bread is out of this world! Enjoy!

We had a party of 15 at Kona a couple of years ago and it was soooooo good. When planning our upcoming trip I knew that right behind CRT was a need for the Kona ADR!
