Kona Cafe, Boma, & Spoodles: Family of 5, two teenage boys, not very picky, we enjoy all kinds of food.

We are going to go to two of these three for dinner. Which do you recommend and why? I know you have strong opinions ... I need to hear them! :thumbsup2 Thanks!

We have done Kona and Spoodles and they were both awesome, we did Boma for breakfast and it was to die for so I cannot wait to try dinner.

I would pick Spoodles and Boma

I can only recommend one - Spoodles. The appetizers here are phenominal, worth going for (along with the Sangria...;) ) The garlic shrimp linguine entree is excellent.

I'm in the minority on my opinion of KONA. We've had horrible meals there two years in a row, won't be giving it a third chance, too many other places to try.

MickeyNicki - (sorry to hijack your thread OP:blush: ) but I LOVED your dining report. I read the entire thing last night. I was on the fence about paying OOP for our BOMA breakfast. After reading your fabulous reviews I am SO happy we made our ADR's yesterday. They were so well written and the pix were wonderful! Thank you for taking the time so write such a detailed and fun report! :goodvibes

OP: We have only done Kona & Boma for dinner to date and both were fabulous and I would recommend either! Both are in beatiful resorts with wonderful atmospheres. They both make great dining experiences. That being said we are trying Spoodles for the first time in Sept and we are very excited! :)

Thanks to all for your responses! I posted on the other board, too, so I apologize if you see it there. It had been a few hours and no one had responded here, so I thought maybe I had it on the wrong board.

Glad to hear these different opinions. I am thinking that we'll do Kona and Boma simply because we haven't done them before. I love Spoodles, but would like to try some we haven't done. There have been such differing views on Boma, so I guess it is just a matter of taste. We love getting the feel for the different resorts and already have O'Hana scheduled. But we were curious about Kona... the menu looks terrific to us.

MickeyNicki, I can see I will have to find your thread now, thanks to chocovrdmicears!

:woohoo: 45 days and counting... paid up today!:woohoo:

We did both Boma and Kona during free DDP in Oct. 2006. We loved them both. In fact, Boma was my favorite meal of the whole 12 days. We also really liked Boma but I do wish I had order the dish I had planned to. I had the mahi-mahi and I am sure it was very good but I don't love fish. However, I wish I had got the scallops and prawns. DD loved the chicken wing appy. :thumbsup2

I have never been to Spoodles but I would like to on our next trip.
