We would like to go to all 3, but which 2 would you recommend most?

Also - please let me know if I should avoid any of the 3! Thank you!

We enjoy all three very much.

But they are so different in cuisine and atmosphere. Kona Cafe is much more casual than the other two BTW.

I would just pick by menu and what appeals to you.

We did the Yachtsman this past Saturday and it was great, my review and lots of pics are in my signature. We also love Kona. DH is not feeling the Artist Point menu so I doubt we will ever get there :headache:

Thank you, Mickey Nikki - your pictures are great!

We've been to all three. Kona's great for breakfast, but I'd pick Artist Point for dinner. We've been going back every trip! There and Chefs de France have become our new 'regulars'.

Out of the 3 you mention, we have only eaten at Kona, but I will tell you Kona is awesome :thumbsup2 We are steak eaters and their filet and prime rib are out of this world:cool1: :cool1:

Yachtman is the #1 Signature Dining restaurant on Disney Property.

They still hand cut their steaks and freshly prepare all their food daily. I like Kona also but the 2 in are different classes. I have never been to Artist point.

If you go into the review section there are a few recent reviews of the Yachtsman.

We've done all three and they are all very good. But we think YSH and AP are both significantly better than Kona.

By Disney - they took the rating away from California Grill.

I've never heard of Disney ranking their restaurants in that manner. Do you remember where you saw or heard of this?

We have been to all 3 and we would have to say that Yachtsman and Artist Point would be the 2 we would choose.

Have never had a bad meal food wise at either, but the last trip to Artist Point the service was fair.

We don't think you can go wrong with any of the 3.

Good Luck and TTFN!!!

:tigger:

Well-you have 2 Signature restaurants and a made-over coffeee shop. So the choice is pretty easy--Yachtsman and Artist Point.
And like BCV23, I've not heard of Disney ever "ranking" their restaurants.

Disney has always had their own system to rate their restaurants - based on service, volume, customers...I'm not sure of the exact formula. Disney is like any other major company who does rankings on their various businesses.

I used to work for Disney years ago and have formed many long term relationships with alot of cast members at WDW that is how I found out they recently made #1 signature restaurant.

Ahead of V&A which is also a signature restaurant on WDW's site?

And if we don't know the reason for a ranking, does it seem meaningful? If it's total $ income/restaurant or $ per seat or $ per customer that won't really affect an individual's satisfaction. If it's by demand, I can't imagine YSH being first based on our experience with booking. If by satisfaction, how is that measured? Aside from those resort surveys we get occasionally I've rarely been asked anything about restaurant experiences. In fact, I can only recall two instances of being asked about satisfaction after dining at Tutto Italia's.

Not that we don't enjoy YSH. It's a good steakhouse. It just seems a little iffy to proclaim it #1.

V & A is a totally different dining experience and is in a class all its own and is not looked at as a signature dining restaurant but a fine dining restaurant and the only one that WDW has.

Being rated number one is by guest feedback of their dining experiences and it is measured internally based on their scores. As for signature there is only 5 signatures ( Citricos, California Grill, Narcoosses, Yachtsman Steakhouse, and Flying Fish). They are truly signature restaurants. And of the 5 Steakhouse is on top for now in Guest eyes or opinion, not WDW staff so it is significant for future guest to know that.

Everyone has their own opinions on restaurants and service just like everything else in life.

Artist Point and Jiko are also Signature restaurants.
How does Disney do these surveys? I've been dining at WDW restaurants since 1975 and haven't once been asked by Disney for a rating or an opinion.

After just about everytrip to WDW and I go about every 4-6 weeks they email me a survey about my stay which asks about resorts, restaurants etc.
