Last time we were at DW we had breakfast at Whispering Canyon and my kids loved the banana bread french toast. This time we are staying at Shades of Green. I booked a breakfast at Kona on our water park day, and I booked WC on our last morning/travel day- I'm afraid with it being the end of a long trip that we might not be up for getting up early and traveling over to Wilderness Lodge. Kona has a banana stuffed french toast-is it similar to the WC one? Do you think kids would be satisfied/like it? I might have a revolt if we don't go to WC, but the only other thing we could do is switch the two days which I am reluctant to do because of wanting to get to the water park early. Although now that I'm typing the idea of running over to Kona on our last day is much more appealing than going to Wilderness Lodge-ugh, now I really don't know what to do!!! Suggestions? Input? Tips? Thanks so much!!

I think the kids will like it. The WL one is really just banana bread used to make traditional French toast. Kona uses really thick bread (sourdough I think) and puts it together like a sandwich with bananas in the middle before giving it the "French toast" treatment. Oh, then they roll it in sugar. I believe Tonga Toast has it's own followings and boards it's so good! 1 order would feed 2 kids easily, unless they are really big eaters! Try it out. You may find a new favorite. There is a picture of it over on allears.net under their menus.

I agree with VP that the Tonga Toast should satisfy the kiddos. And definitely get to Kona since you will be so close. Whispering Canyon is good and all, but Kona breakfast is the best on property. I'm personally a huge fan of the Samoan (pulled pork eggs benedict) but all the options are really good

You should switch the days. You can get the tonga toast at Capt. Cook's in the Polynesian so you won't need reservations and you can get there at your leisure. My kids love the Tonga Toast.

Tonga toast is AMAZING!!!!! I think one difference between Kona's and cap't Cook's is that Kona Tonga Toast comes with a strawberry compote and the one at Cap't Cook's does not. The compote is pretty delicious though! We love Kona for breakfast
