I am looking at purchasing a double umbrella type stroller for our upcoming trip. Does anyone have any opinions on either of these strollers? I am looking for something fairly inexpensive yet effective. Some things to consider:
I have an almost 5 yo and a 18 mo. I know the weight limit on the Tour Mate is only 35lbs, my son is around 45lbs. Do you think it will hold up for the trip? I am sure he won't be riding the entire time, just when he needs a break. There isn't really any stroller out there with a higher weight limit that doesn't cost an arm and leg, since we don't need a double stroller here I am just really looking for one for our trip.
I tried the Tour mate out in the store with both the kids and it seemed easy to manuever.
No store around here has the Schwinn model, so I am unable to test it out. I am wondering if it is worth the extra money (double the Tour mate)
Also one more thing is we rely on the disney transportation so I am looking for a stroller that folds up easily and compactly. Anyways thanks for your opinions!!:)

Have you considered this one.....

It does not have the umbrella fold (it folds in half from top to bottom) but is very compact and lightweight, easy to fold has semi reclining seats, baskets underneath each seat and a nice canopy. We bought one for our 4 year old (42 pounds) and our 2 year old (28 pounds). It works wonderfully, they love it, find it comfortable and pushes very easy. It's relatively cheap too. We tried them all and this was the only one that was a good fit for my tall four year old in this price range.

The stroller is rated to carry up to 45 pounds per side (though their listed limit is 35 I believe. That rating does not include what you could carry in the basket and the manufacturer told me that they rate it as safe up to 45 pounds per side.)

We will be taking it to Disney in 2 weeks!!! I'll be sure to post how it did. We've taken it to the mall and the zoo and just adore it!

I have the Schwinn model double stroller and I love it! It is perfect for Disney, which is what I bought it for. We used it last November for our trip with our two sons, ages 6 and 2 1/2 at the time. It was absolutely the best stroller I could find, and we were very happy with it. I also could not try it out anywhere near me and just bought it off the internet, but I am still very happy with the stroller. My almost 7 year old still rides in it. The stroller holds a lot of weight, compared to other umbrella type strollers, has two baskets under the seats, a hanging pouch behind each basket, folds up great for the busses and we were able to scoot on and off quickly with it. I highly recommend this stroller. It was worth every penny for the Disney trip, and we still use it a year later. The handles are adjustable, which is great for taller parents. The seats recline independently and has sunshades, most umbrella strollers don't recline. You will be very happy with this one if you decide to buy it. I have no regrets!:Pinkbounc
