Hey, I have a kodak easyshare camera and I'm going to disney this Dec. Any tips from those of you with this camera?

With an EasyShare, you just need to know the basics of point and shoot photography.

I liked this tutorial myself:

Tips for Using a Point & Shoot Camera
By Philip Greenspun

Yes, it can be done
Do you feel inadequate because you have a puny Yashica T4 in your pocket but your no-*&^ friend is lugging around a Canon EOS-1 SLR, Tamron 28-200 zoom lens, and moby flash?
Don't.

You can get a better picture than he can, for the following reasons:

Your camera weighs 8 oz. and is weatherproof so you have it with you at all times.

You have a decent lens in front of the film; like most first-time SLR owners these days, he has a cheap low-contrast zoom lens.

He is using that moby on-camera flash as his primary light. You would never be that uncreative (at least not after reading the rest of this article).

Your camera has a better system for combining light from the flash with ambient light ("fill-flash").

A professional photographer with a pile of $1500 lenses and a tripod is going to be able to do many things that you aren't. But rest assured that he carries a P&S camera in his pocket as well.

If the above interests you, check out the link. He's got some good basics there for the P&S crowd (myself included whilst I continue to shop around for my Rebel :smooth: )

Which Easyshare do you have? There are point and shoot Easyshares, and there are those with manual controls.

My advice is don't rely on it for nighttime or darker shots, even with the flash. Unless I'm doing something wrong (point & shoot, right?!) nighttime pictures do NOT turn out. :sad2:

Also, with my Easyshare there is no way to turn the date stamp off (which really sucks). So always make sure the date is set correctly because like it or not, the date stamp will be there so it might as well be correct!

I have one of the Kodak Easy Share cameras and I thought it did ok in dark areas. I know your not suppose to use a flash on dark rides (we were the only ones riding and they didn't yell at me :) ) but this was in pirates just before the drop.

here is another near the end of the ride.

I carry my small Easy share when I don't feel like lugging my Rebel around. :)
also, I don't have a problem with my date stamp.

Unless it's unlike any other Kodak, I can't imagine this! Are you sure? That would be terrible! Maybe you should try this forum....

Full of friendly Kodak owners and even a super helpful Kodak rep who can answer most anything.

As for flash, this is the case with the majority of digitals, and some are worse than others. The most important thing to keep in mind is the flash range for your camera, whatever it is.

Thanks, I'll definately be checking out this site to see if there is a way to turn that darn thing off!! I've read and reread the owner's manual with no luck, but maybe this site will help. Thanks again! :thumbsup2

i have the high end one and it is great i have had no problems and took night shots and fireworks shots. you need a steedy hand for some of the shots they do come out bad. Have fun and if you did not get one yet get a higher memory card i have up to 600 photos i can take on mine. and took almost that many on my last trip

I also have an Easy Share. I took it with me in December and my pics came out horrible!!! Blurry and night shots were well......just plain sad. Please help. I am by no means a professional. But, any help with my camera would be great!

my daughter has an easy share( ?430 maybe, it 's 4 mp) and while some of her shots are fine( i took my sig pic with it) anything on the dark side is so bad it can't be fixed ...ie she went to Peru, and all the pics she took under the rainforest canopy were so dark they were unusable ( she did use what ever mode it has for such situations with absolutely no success)

so if you really want nice pics, try out your camera in a variety of situations before hand and see what it is or is not capable of doing then shoot accordingly to save yourself disappointment later( that would apply probably to any camera though now wouldn't it :teeth: )
fine:

not so fine:(one of the best, after editing none the less although at the time i didn't have noiseware... most were just black holes :sad2: )
