 So, we were coming out of HS this morning and I notice a Disney Bike patrol writing something down and my first thought was maybe the car was broken into which had me nervous as I was parked 3 cars away and then I heard the barking. Sure enough, there was a dog in the car. They had cracked the windows some but its supposed to be warm today and if the sun comes out full bore that poor dog will have a rough time. The disney guy said they called "county" which I hope means the sheriff. Disney has really nice kennels they just built and if you can afford the park you can afford the kennel.

I'm just glad the dog got out alive! When I read your post title, I was really worried for a moment. :faint:

It only takes ten minutes on a 80 degree day for a car to get within 100 to 120 degrees. On a 90 degree day, it'll get up to 160 degrees! Cracking the windows makes almost no difference.

That dog could have been dead inside of 20 minutes easy, even if it's not that hot outside. The poor things can't sweat, they only pant.

It really, really makes me mad that people still do stupid things like this with their pets, given all the information that's out there. In our town, they'd be charged and their names would be published in the SPCA's monthly newsletter - potentially twice, first when the charges are laid and again when they're convicted and fined.

Even if it was a cool day, I can't understand why they'd think that their dog would be happy cooped up in a car all day.

lets put the owners in the car with the windows cracked for the day in the FL sun - maybe they will bake like their dog would have and there would be a few less stupid people in this world.

Or better yet, charge them with animal cruelty and take their dog away - this makes me beyond angry when people leave their dogs and children in cars for extended periods of time!:sad2:

It does indeed mean WDW Security called the Sheriff Sad to say this happens more often than people think here in FL and in amusement parking lots disgusting
BUT FL is VERY tough on this they can be charged both civilly and criminally

YEAH WDW Security :woohoo:

You know I always had a sick feeling in my stomach when WDW got rid of the kennels in each park that this would occur more & more mind you some that would be this unthinking/cruel wouldn't utilize them anyway but I always had that in the back of my mind Security is very aware of this happening

Sad BUT glad I could reassure you
