Saturday, 4/30, I wake up early. I'm always the first to rise, habit I guess. Anyway I rush to the balcony to see what I can see, and all that I can see is one Ankole (cow looking thing with extra long horns) looking back at me. He looked like he wanted to say something, like "What choo lookin' at?" Oh well, I jumped in the shower. We had an early priority seating at Boma, something like 9:15. :teeth: Remember, we were just going to hang out at the resort and relax. Yeah right.

Breakfast was excellent. DDE card was once again accepted. Try the "special juice."

"Hey Knucklehead, what would you like to do today?"
"Well Dad, since you were the only one that rode anything yesterday, I'd like to go back to MGM and ride TOT."
"Oh, OK," I guiltily replied. So much for relaxing. We packed up and headed for the bus stop. Did I mention we usually drive? Guess which bus stop had the most people waiting. Yep, MGM.

While I was trying to think of a way to avoid closed in crowded spaces with Bo Bo, our cooler, diaper bag and folded stroller, an EPCOT bus pulled up. There was no one waiting at that stop.
"Hey Knucklehead, wanna go do Test Track?"
"No, I wanna do TOT."
"Aw come on, we've got all week to do TOT, let's go to EPCOT today."
"Well...awright."

One of the reasons we had planned to take it easy at the resort for the first two days, was it was the weekend. Even when DW and I were there on a cold Saturday in January, the parks were crowded. So on the beautiful day that it was 4/30, EPCOT had a fair amount of people in it. We marched over to TT and got Fast Passes for two hours later in the day. Fine, we'll hang out.

Knucklehead hangin' out.

DW let Knucklehead play in the water while I strolled Bo Bo over to The Land to see if maybe Soarin' was open yet. It was, and there was hardly anyone aware of it. Too bad I had already got Fast Passes for TT, or I would have gone in and got some there. Oh well.

We returned to the gettin' wet area over on the Test Track side. We decided to go check out the other gettin' wet area headin' into World Showcase so Bo Bo could play too. There were too many rambunctious 9 year olds at the Test Track one.

Bo Bo gettin wet too.

Anyway, when they had gotten soaked enough, we headed back toward Test Track. I had noticed on the schedule that the Jaminators were playing soon over by Mission Space. We had seen these guys on our Honeymoon, enjoyed them, and hadn't seen their show since. They had always either just played, or weren't performing the day we were there or something. So I was excited to see them, Knucklehead not so much. So DW and Knucklehead argued about "doing something that Dad wants to do. We always do what you want to do" etc., etc. Meanwhile, Bo Bo and I went and watched the show. Them boys sure can play the trash cans.

At this point, Knucklehead is in tears. He had had an attitude pretty much all morning. We messed up and gave him an ultimatum. Either straighten up/cheer up (there's no crying at the Happiest Place on Earth), or we're leaving.
So, back to the Lodge we went. :sad2:

After a long talking to, Knucklehead straightened up. I think he finally realized that we don't make empty promises, even at WDW.

When we arrived back to AKL, I stopped by Guest Services and asked if my Fed Ex package arrived. Not yet. And then I remembered it was Saturday. How much you want to bet those geniuses at the rental car place "overnighted" the van's tag and forgot to check the box that states "for Saturday Delivery?" That just meant another day without wheels. We were going to have to risk it when we checked out on Sunday and checked in over at SOG. If anyone was going to say something about no tag, I was positive it would be the military resort.

So, finally, we were going to relax at the Lodge. Back at the room, we slathered up with sunscreen and went down to the pool. Knucklehead is part fish, and could probably stay in the water long enough to grow gills. He was able to join in on the "pool activities," noodle races. I felt sorry for his team. Knucklehead was more interested in blowing water out one end of the noodle than racing.

On the way to the pool, I stopped off at Mara to pick up a Coke in a refillable mug. I stepped up to the register and handed the CM my credit card and my DDE card. She said "I don't think we take the DDE card." And I said, "Oh yes you do." She tried to run it through to appease me, and I was getting upset because I just knew I was right. I paid full price anyway after making what I thought was a scene. Of course, I later read through the list of places the DDE is accepted, and Mara wasn't one of them.

Meanwhile, back at the pool, Bo Bo was having a hard time staying afloat. First, we tried to put him in his inflatable boat thing that his legs stick through the bottom. He would have none of that. Then we put his water wings on, and at least he was happy. He wasn't very bouyant, but he was having fun leaning forward and sticking his face in the water.

We stayed at the pool just long enough to allow ourselves time to get ready for our dinner at Boma. We dropped Knucklehead off at Simba's Clubhouse on the way to the restaurant. That meal was delicious and relaxing (there was no, "Knucklehead put your drink down and eat your chicken"). After eating my seafood soup, I followed an inquisitive man around and pretty much put on my plate whatever he did. We obviously had similar tastes. He was just bolder in asking to the point questions of the CMs like, "What is this? And is it any good?" We stayed away from the Fu Fu, but did try the falafel.

Did I mention my parents were coming? Originally, they were to arrive Sunday morning. But, and since they were as excited as us about going to WDW, they arrived Saturday evening instead. They were able to get a room short notice at SOG for Saturday night. We invited them over to check out the AKL after they settled in.

When they arrived, we took them back to check out our room, then strolled around the resort. We showed them the animals and fire pit at Arusha Rock. We stopped by Simba's so Knucklehead could say "Hi" to his Grandparents and to see if he was ready to come out. Of course, he wasn't. He was right in the middle of some important game. We walked around the pool and got some drinks at the pool bar. At some point we went back and convinced Knucklehead to come out of Simba's. Then we all sat in the lobby and finished our drinks before saying goodnight. We had a big day ahead of us, MK! :earsboy:
