Does anyone have the Knifty Knitter looms? I don't know how to knit or crochet, but I'm hope to learn how to make some things on the Knifty Knitter, and my dd (10, can crochet a little bit) hopes to use it too.

If you have a Knifty Knitter, do you have any advice for a beginner? What is the *easiest* project to make and what type of yarn is best (yet budget friendly) to buy for the looms? Is it difficult to learn how to do?

I don't have the looms yet. I see that Michaels has them 50% off next week and I hope to get to Michaels on Monday to buy a Knifty Knitter set. With the holiday festivities keeping us busy, I probably won't actually start trying to figure it out until things calm down in January but I would like to buy what I need and at least get a feel on whether I can figure out how to use the Knifty Knitter. TIA!!

Yes, I have knifty knitters! I've made tons of scarfs, socks, even a shrug. It's really easy, I used to teach classes at Mike's, so I can prob answer some questions, after you get into it.

I recommend a yarn that isn't chenelle, it breaks way too easy! I've used Simply Soft from Mike's with huge success. Fancy fun fur works up really well too.

Have fun!

My dd, who is 12, has the knifty knitter and loves them. She made a shawl for her grandmother this Christmas. Once she actually started working on it it didn't take very long at all.

I have the looms and they are a lot of fun! I think that you will find that they are very easy to use and that there are a lot of idea books out there now.

Have fun!

I just finished my very first Knifty Knitter project. I made a scarf for DD2, and it's really really cute! DH wants me to make him one next.

I did some research online and there is a Knifty Knitters yahoo group.

Oh and can I say that the instructions that came with the loom are horrible but there are some really nice you tube tutorials that were very helpful.

My DD 17 has a set of the looms. She's made several things including a hat for her older brother one Christmas. He loved it. I found another set at a garage sale and paid $1 for mine, but I haven't used them yet.

I'm looking to pull my looms out of storage but am having a difficult time finding patterns beyond the hat and scarf. The shrug sound cool to me... do you have a pattern for that you could share? Or any other patterns?

This website has a bunch of patterns. Good Luck!!
