Ok for some reason my kittens (not sure which one) keep going potty in my daughter's room. Most of the time right over the heater vent. Any advice on how to get this to stop is appreciated.

Would love to read the replies for this thread:) We are also having kitten urination issues and I'm not sure what to do. If anyone reads my earlier posts, you'll remember that my male kitten, now 14 weeks, pees in the shower nearly every morning, had one accident on my couch a few weeks back and last night peed in the beanbag chair and some got on the carpet which is stinking to high heaven.

Help us both!!!! please

I found this in an article it may be helpful to you.

Urinary Tract infections are a common cause of a cat peeing all over the house.
Often a cat will inappropriately urinate because of a medical condition. If you have problems with a cat not using his litter box please get him or her checked by a vet. Your vet can examine your cat for lower urinary tract diseases to rule out medical conditions which could be causing the inappropriate urination problem. For example a painful case of cystitis or urethral blockage may have your cat associating the pain of urination with it's litter tray and it will therefore avoid it's litter tray

Still no clue on the pooping thing for my kitties. Do cats have scent thing like because they pooped in this spot before they will just keep doing it?

Oh CharityLynn, I wasn't aware that you were talking #2 issues:guilty: or I would have been less likely to highjack your thread. Good luck to us both as we work through our kitty issues:)

It was alright :) Just hoping we both get some help. I am tired of my stinky house and I love my little fur babies.

It could be a medical reason, so checking with the vet would be good.

There also could be other factors. I have a cat that will not poo in the litter box if it is not clean, so she goes right beside it. She is simply a princess. They have amazing smell and will go in the same place. So at the pet stores you can get special cleaner that will take the smell out.

I have read about cats that were bullied by other cats that would guard the litter, so it really could be anything. And if they find another place to go and it is not cleaned properly they will continue to go there. So the heating vent could simply be a place they thought they were supposed to go, possibly a past animal went there, so I would get it cleaned and if possible limit access to that room for a while.
