Kitten/Cat People what do you feed your babies?

Now, this is not price issue with us because our Dog is on Nutro, but our cat Maxie (HER ROYAL HIGHNESS) will eat nothing but Friskies Chef's Blend. She won't eat treats of any kind except for Kitty Milk occasionally. She also will not drink water from anywhere except the kitchen sink faucet. She hops up there and cries until someone turns it on. I just wish she'd learn how to turn it off!!!

Meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow .... Mix

My cat doesn't like the more expensive, fancy stuff.

I have tried many kinds over the years, but they are all the pet store varieties. My oldest cat, with no teeth, eats Fancy Feast canned food ( she won't eat any other kind) and tries to eat the dry food out for my younger cat. I use to buy Science diet for sensitive skin, but they don't make it anymore. I tried the nutro for older cats because it was supposed to be easier to eat...not! Then we had my youngest cat on OM catfood for weight management (bought through the vet). Now I have the younger cat on Royal Canin hair & skin formula.

Yes, the better the food you feed your kitty, the healthier your kitty is (meaning fewer vet visits), the less smell comes from the litterbox, the shinier their coat, and they'll even eat less because there's more quality ingredients in the higher quality foods, so it takes less to give them the same amount of nutrition.

We feed ours both dry and wet (have to do the wet because otherwise Blaze doesn't get enough liquid). The dry is the new Science Diet Natural Recipe (or something like that). The wet is another brand that has Nature in the title, Nature's Balance, I think. I found my kitties liked the Nature's Balance better than the Science Diet, and I like the ingredients better -- no "products" or "byproducts" -- things like when you see "egg product" or "chicken byproduct", it's more likely to be egg *shells* than real egg, or the parts of the chicken that we don't want to eat. :( So I only buy moist food that doesn't have "product/byproduct" in the ingredients. And when looking at the ingredients and smelling the food as it's served, I felt that if *I* had to eat it, I'd much rather have the Nature's Balance!

We used to do IVD from our vet, but since we've moved, it's 30 minutes each way to the vet and the kitties like the Nature's Balance just as well and the vet said that's fine to give them. :)

I also give my kitties chicken or turkey baby food in its own juice as treats or occasionally mixed in with their moist food (usually when Blaze isn't eating because he's picky)

Well, I feed him Chef's Blend or Purina One usually. But he manages to scrounge up his own meals by stealing from our plates or licking dirty plates in the sink. He's very resourceful for an indoor cat. ;)

Lenny - lord of the house - dines upon a continous buffet of Purina One dry cat food - and feast upon Sheba 2x/day - he's a big boy:D
