Kitchenware at DCR?

Hi again. On various 'self-catering' trips around the UK and Continent over the years, one of my pet hates has been the (lack of) quality of the cutlery etc provided. Hey, I know that if it's too good then some less-principled tyoes would nick it, but, in order to decide if we take anything of our own, are there any decent knives? (that will actually cut a loaf of bread!) And, possibly a daft Q in France.. is there a corkscrew provided?

It is one of my peeves on trips elsewhere. Knife provision was okay. But as family has chefs I take a knife roll with me as I can only cope with razor sharp implements

You get a waiters friend for opening wine. Remember we are in France so thay have that covered

we've just got back and were glad that we took our own sharp knife as the knife provided in our cabin just 'rubbed'the bagutte and didn't cut it. we took our own can opener but there was a little one provided along with a chopping board in one of the cupboards and a few pans. there is only 2 hot rings in the cabins. there was also a coffee machine but no papers provided and a microwave and dishwasher. we took our own tea towels and washing-up stuff too.

there were plenty of plates, bowls and small cups. we also took own own mugs for a 'proper' mug of tea/coffee.

Cheer's m'dears! We'll take a couple of Starbucks mugs for the coffee (we have about 30! ), a couple of sharp knives, coffee filters, a leatherman corkscrew and washing up stuff!
