Have any of you ever eaten the kitchen sink?

What's the big deal about it?

I've heard about it, but don't really understand what it is........ :confused3

Well the simple answer is that it's a frikkin huge sundae.
I think it's like 8 scoops of ice cream, every topping they have ( which includes chocolate, caramel, brownies and peanut butter among others ) and a whole can of whipped cream in a "sink shaped" sundae dish.

We were 6 when we had it. ( well 3 of which were kids ). It starts off awesome, but towards the end becomes a gooey miscellanious mess.

Certainly an experience, and they make a big deal when you order it and they bring it to your table.

Kitchen Sink - Eight Scoops of Ice Cream served with all the Toppings in the house and a whole can of Whipped Cream $21.99

It's big, very very big.

We've never had it, but always talk about it. There's just not a big enough group of us to put it away. But it looks amazing! And they flash the lights and you get lots of attention. :) If you have a large group, I would recommend it (and it would probably be cheaper than everyone getting their own individual sundae, but don't quote me on that).

There's a picture of it in my Trip Report (see sig).

Anyone know about the "A Whole Can??" response from other customers when the server lists the ingredients?

Server says: "... and a whole can of whipped cream"
'Audience' responds: "a whole can?"

Funny stuff. I had never heard of that before.

I've eaten it, along with 3 teenagers. It looks pretty impressive when it is brought to the table. Yes it has an entire can of whipped cream. Now, I love ice cream, but this sundae isn't on my top ten list. By the time we got it the ice cream was melting. There was tons of cake and cookies and candy on it. Halfway through there was just melted ice cream and soggy cake and cookies on the bottom. I like my ice cream firm, with lots of sauce and you just don't get it that way with this sundae. When we go this summer I'm going to bypass the Kitchen Sink and go for the No Way Jose.

Sorry, this is a little OT, but does anyone know what brand of ice cream disney uses? DD has celiac disease and can only eat certain brands of ice cream.

8 of us polished it off :thumbsup2

4 of us tried to have it for lunch first thing after getting of ME & couldn't finish it. It was good, not one of my favorites sundaes, but I think it's more for the experience. I was the only one who knew about it & I did the ordering. The look on everyone's face when it came was priceless. :)

Here's our before & afters...

I'd love it, but I don't want to eat that much at once. I'm also kind of grossed out by a bunch of people eating from one bowl even though I know you each have your own smaller bowl.

You are given two serving spoons & individual bowls & spoons. I am the biggest germaphob  & I was fine. Everyone just served themselves with the serving spoons. No germs were shared.

I will agree that it is a LOT of ice cream. The four of us have pretty big appitites & had been up since 5am already & had eaten a light breakfast & we didn't finish it, it's too rich! I probably won't order it any time soon...maybe when I have some kids of my own.

We are a family of 5 and go to ghiridelli's every trip and the kitchen sink is cheaper! It cost us $25 at coldstone with a coupon one time too.

If only there wasn't an 1.5 wait at beaches and cream when we tried to go there this past trip. We are hoping for Sept. I really want to try it at least once.

I think maybe I'm just grossed out whenever I see the "after" pictures, haha. You have to admit, that picture really looks like a bunch of people slobbering in a bowl.

We did not partake of the kitchen sink, but someone ordered one while we were there. AMAZING amount of ice cream, whipped cream, cake, brownies, etc. I don't think I could do it, but I sure polished off my Coke float with room to help my DD finish her banana split :thumbsup2

There are so many yummy soda fountain desserts to be had at Beaches & Cream!

:laughing:I totally agree & if you think it's gross to look at now, imagine looking at it after eating it!

My husband would flip if he had to eat out of the same bowl as others. With individual bowls, he'd take one serving but wouldn't go back for more. We've been married 42 years, and he has NEVER drank out of a glass that I already sipped from or let me have a sip of his and then drank from it himself again.

Eh, I bought it for just two of us.

Sure, we didn't finish it, not even close, but the experience alone was worth the money!

We did this one evening with five adults, well four adults and a teenager. It felt almost naughty to eat that much ice cream for dinner. We finished it off, but no one wanted anything else to eat. We were stuffed to the rafters.

So, we managed to feed five adults for under 30 dollars with tax and a nice tip. I cannot think of one other place in Disney World where we could have managed that particular accomplishment.

I did have a tummy ache afterwards though, and I don't think I will do it again. Once was a blast though.

I believe it's 20 scoops of ice cream, cookies, brownies, toppings, and whipped cream. Maybe bananas. Something like that
