I've had my Kitchen Aid stand mixer for about 4-5 yrs now (received it as a Christmas present along with the slicer attachment) I've never used the slicer attachment (since I have these attachments on my KA food processor)

But I'm interested in the meat grinder attachment. Do you have it? How is it? And do you have any other attachments that you couldn't live without? LOL

I have the meat grinder and really like it. I grind my own lean meat for burgers. I wouldn't use it for a really large job, like when we make deer bologna, but for smaller jobs, it does a fine job!!!

we have one.

my family likes italian food so dh and i will get large pork roasts when they are on sale (walmart sells HUGE ones). dh then trims off the fat and the bone, cuts it into chunks and uses the grinder attachment to turn it into sausage. i bought a book on sausage making that gave us a great recipie for the seasoning. i freeze it in bulk packages.

we recently made andoui sausage as well (for jambalaya).

much less expensive, and much lower fat content than what i can buy at the store.

I have the meat grinder, and used it regularly, until we got a decent old fashioned butcher shop in town. SO now I get my meats there.

The pre-packaged ground meats at the regular grocery stores was horrible, so I started grinding my own. It wasn't too much trouble.
