Kirstie Alley - replaced by Pier One?

Someone at my work said they saw a picture of her in a tabloid and she apparently now weighs over 300 pounds. Do you think this is the reason that Pier One replaced her on their ads with Thom Felicia from QE? How sad. Has anyone seen this picture? I'm sure it's tough enough in Hollywood to be anything more than a size 2 without being terminated for a very large weight gain.

I find it hard to believe she weighs over 300 pounds. Kirstie Alley has always been "bigger" by Hollywood standards, but I still think she's pretty.

I saw her recently on a Sunday night movie and although she didn't look 300lbs, she looked bigger than the Pier One commercials. She didn't look very good.

I saw her latest Pier1 commercial. She's actually lost weight since the Christmas 1. But it doesn't matter to me why she's gone, I personally found those commercials highly annoying and her wardrobe kinda nutty. I'm not sure the new guy is much better though.

Thom Felicia is so IN now I guess it doesn't hurt to have him as a spokesperson. Besides, her contract could've run out. I was never crazy about her commercials but they did disguise her weight very well.

Looks to me like your friend is getting her information for The Globe or Enquirer.

Sad to say, yes, I think it was in the Enquirer or Star. They are famous for taking some very unglamarous pictures of celebrities at a bad time.

I've always liked Kirstie Alley, but more for Cheers than the Pier one commercials. I didn't like Veronica's closet though. She's a very pretty girl, and it just sounds like she's going through a rough time. If I recall, she had a few nasty divorces or something.

I think Thom Felicia is much better suited for the job (since he's an interior designer and getting so much good press with Queer Eye). But I still think the commercials are a little wacky. I think if they toned it down it would work better for their demographic.

Personally i've never liked their commercials, but I do like their products.

I hate those commercials. I'm not skinny myself but she looked bad in the commercials. They would put her in those weird dresses that you could see were covering up a giant butt. It just looked odd. It would have been better if they put her ins something ordinary and just let her look like herself.

I hated those commercials. Made her look like an idiot.

I always liked her on cheers. Maybe her contract ran out and she was sick of acting like an idiot

Oh, I'm in the minority, I love Kirstie Alley. She just makes me laugh, and I think she is one of the most beautiful actresses around. I didn't even mind the Pier One commercials -- and I loved Cheers and Veronica's Closet. She also starred in one of my all-time funniest movies called Sibling Rivalry - if you ever have a chance to see this, do! Its hilarious. Kirstie Alley has great comic timing.

Anyway, I did see that pic on the cover a tabloid while waiting in line at the grocery store. Couldn't believe it was her. I said to myself at the time, "I am soooooooooooooooo glad that I am not famous, how would it be if there was a telephonic lens on me 24/7?"

I have seen the picture, and she does look enormous. But they could have also added another chin and some jowls to her, and she looked like she was without makeup. Obviously she didn't pose for the picture, and it was probably taken with a super zoom lens. The price of fame
