Kirk Herbstreit & His Dog

Kirk Herbstreit takes his dog Ben with him EVERYWHERE,

Ben goes on the Plane,to the Hotel,to the restaurants,to the production meetings,to the sets,etc.

He is not a service dog.

Ben currently has leukemia,but he has been on the road with Kirk long before he got sick.

Below is Ben at the LSU/USC Game.

I love dogs as much as anyone,but this seems a bit much.

I've met Ben. He's better behaved than most people I know. Kirk Herbstreit is an introvert and I wouldn't be surprised if he said he has social anxiety. If he feels more comfortable with Ben by his side, so be it.

As long as his coworkers and other staff don't have an issue with it, I don't see the problem.

If the people he works with are ok with it, and as long as he prevents the dog from peeing and pooping all over the place, I'm ok with it. Now, if he puts the dog up on the concessions counter or something, then I'll have something to say.

It it's not affecting you directly and the people that it is doesn't have a problem with it, I don't see why it's a talking point but YMMV.

I had an emotional support dog and didn't tell people, he was just my snuggles is all anyone else needed to know.

There will be a tribute to Ben on ESPN's College Game Day this morning. Ben battled 3 types of cancer and Kirk had to say goodbye to him this week. He will certainly be missed by Kirk's coworkers and the entire college football community.

I was so sad to see that Ben passed. I only learned of him recently. I’ve been a big college football fan for years and used to routinely watch Game Day. We got really busy, but I’ve watched more this year. I saw Ben at DD18s university and then saw him with Bevo and Revele at later games. He looked like a sweet boy.

Too bad it died but it’s certainly not mentally normal to have to take a dog to all places.

I LOVE college football and Kirk Herbstreit is big part of that community. I also love dogs and thought it was heart warming he brought Ben everywhere. Well behaved and well loved by everyone. RIP Big Ben!!!
