Thank you all for you have all been so helpful with my many questions. I too hope to be a "seasoned" WDW'r and be able to share my wisdom some day.

Has anyone drivin from Kingston to Buffalo? Is it better to go thru Syracsue or Niagra? The furtherest west I have been is Kitchener/Waterloo- I have never been to Niagra before.

Any suggestions?

I live just up the road in Smiths Falls and was in Buffalo for a conference in November.

I picked up a couple of other attendees in Gananoque and headed across the border. It was a great drive. The NY Thruway cost about $6.00 in tolls. Traffic was incredibly light all the way into downtown Buffalo... and we were heading into the city around the dinner hour. Lots of State Troopers on the road keeping speeds down.

I would take this route again any time I was heading for Buffalo or Niagara Falls, ON. It was so much faster and less stressful than the drive across Toronto. We probably saved more than 2-hours.

Let me know if you have any questions about the route (which includes convenient service centres and outlet shopping).

I am a man... and I go shopping!! ;)

If you're looking to fly somewhere in the States, your best bet from Kingston is Rochester or Syracuse or Albany. Buffalo would be too far of a drive for it to be worth it!

I do concur with highland3 on route though. Coming through Toronto will take at least 90 minutes (on a good day) longer.

It's true about the airports. I love the Syracuse Airport. It's small and very user-friendly. It's very rare to get direct flights to MCO, but it seems that's the same case as Rochester or even Buffalo.

I can be at Syracuse in about 2.5 hours.... as opposed to 5 hours to Buffalo, via Syracuse.
