Has anyone done a II short stay, particularly at Kingsgate Williamsburg? I have been to Williamsburg but never stayed there. We need to use some banked points and thought that might be a good option since its in driving distance from us.
We have stayed at KG 4 or 5 times. It is ok. An older resort that could use some refurbing. They have real nice grounds and duck pound. The location is convenient to everything. Amenities are small and minimal. Decent, reasonable restaurant (can't remember the name). KG is a part of Wyndham now (used to be Fairfield). Wyndham has two other newer resorts in Williamsburg - Patriots Place (never been there) and Governor's Green (the newest resort) which we visited last year and will visit again this November. All in all if you're looking for a ok (inexpensive) place to stay KG fits the bill. Certainly better than a hotel. If you end up going... You have to put the Yankee Candle Factory (mall) on your to do list. Also, we listened to their (Wyndham) shpeel for their timeshare (2hrs even though they say 1hr) and got a $100 voucher for use at the candle factory. It was worth it.
