"Indianapolis Children's Museum has free tickets available for school or
homeschool groups bringing a minimum of 20 people for fieldtrips to the Tut
exhibit this fall. We have recently expanded the offering to include out of
state schools so you would qualify. Please call the customer service center at
317-334-4000 and we will be happy to register your group for a fieldtrip. Please
know the approximate number of adults/students attending as well as a couple of
date choices when you call. Fieldtrips are available Aug 24 - Oct 21. Most of
the morning fieldtrip slots are taken already but we have 1 and 1:30 timeslots
most weekdays if your schedule is flexible"

I thought someone may might want to organize it as it is a great
opportunity and you can't beat the price! This info was sent to me by their
Customer Service. I cannot answer any questions, I am just forwarding what they
sent to me.

Thank you for posting this! While we can't take advantage of the free tour, it's great to know about the King Tut exhibit! We used to live in the Indianapolis area and LOVE the Children's Museum there!:love::love:
We have fond memories, so it looks like there will be a road trip for us at the end of summer....thank you...

It is a traveling exhibit so you can check it out or do a search and see where it might be.. hopefully somewhere close to you. :)

We are hoping to go sometime next week.. We have our membership but opted out of the opening weekend figuring it would be crazy busy! I can't wait to see it!!! The kids are even excited....

Indy person here - I would go online and get tickets before you come to Indy. I believe it is timed tickets, but I could be wrong about that. I still need to get some for myself!! They have sold thousands already.

It is a traveling exhibit, but it only has one more stop, somewhere in Canada, before it goes back to Egypt for good.

The Children's Museum is one of the best in the the nation so if you have kids, or even if you don't, you could easily spend a day at it! Along with the King Tut exhibit, the museum opened their own current day Egypt exhibit. There is also a wonderful "Power of Children" exhibit which highlights Anne Frank, Ryan White, and Ruby Bridges. Of course, there are dinosaurs, science, make believe, and more!

I love egyptian stuff. I wish it would come through Phoenix!

Drat! I want to go so bad, but can't afford to get tickets. :( I was hoping this would give me info to score some for free. :sad1:

Keep checking the website toward the last months of the tour. The last couple of months the King Tut exhibit was in Dallas, the museum had tickets half price during week day hours.

Keep in mind, that if you can get your child's school Kindergarten and up to book a tour... at least in Indy it could be FREE.

We school at home so we are going with our homeschool group we had 60 spots which filled up in less than 12 hours that was after everyone got their emails.. she added a few more and now there is a waiting list.

I do know since i co-moderate a HS field trip board that there must be more children than adults.

That is all I know.. as it is expensive to go, we almost didn't until my co-moderator called and was told of the above info.
