If the resort only has the king size available and there's three of us, can they still book the king bed for us? Thanks.

I tried to book a king sized bed for me, DH and DS3 last year and was told that they can't do that over the phone, even though I explained that's where DS normally sleeps. But when we got to the hotel I asked for a king room, was again told no, and the CM asked for a supervisor's opinion, clarified with me that yes, I knew there would only be one bed for the tree of us, and eventually got a king sized bed.

Because it was such a hassle, we just get the two beds now and one of us sleeps with DS.

I would wait until check in...don't think they can request that because of the number of guests listed on the ressie...

I'll keep my eye out for your clan...I think our trips over lap..

Sometimes the kids ends up sleeping with me at night, which that's fine cause we can all fit in my queen bed, but it's a tight fit! So sleeping in a king bed would be just perfect for us. I don't encourage my kids to sleep with me..no.. It's just that that's all they have available on the internet is a king size bed. So I thought before I book it, I need to know if it's okay to have 3 in the room. Thanks. Anyone else would like to share...

Disney can't say you can or cannot sleep with your kids in your bed if you want to.

But they may do a "only 2 people per bed" as a rule scape goat.

Try & book it with CRO. If they give you a hard time talk to the resort when you check in. The only problem with waiting for the resort is all King Bed rooms maybe booked & payed for already.

I called the hotel and talked to the front manager and she said "no". She said it would be different if they were infants..but as you can see from their pictures..they are not. Well...I guess that answers my question. Oh well. Is it a fire code regulation? I don't know..I didn't bother to ask.

While it might not exactly be a fire code regulation, it probably does have something to do with occupancy limits. It's like resorts that have a max of 4 or 5 in a room won't allow an extra unless they are under 3.

I'm sure that when the room limits were set it was based on the number of people per bed. I doubt that anyone considered (either for or against) parents sharing a bed with their kids.

I hope you find a room that works for you! A king room usually costs more, right? Maybe a regular room will open up.

We booked a King with a Rollaway for the 3 of us at CSR for our upcoming stay. I'm not sure what the extra charge is. The Doubles just aren't big enough for DH and I together and we're bringing our 4-year-old cousin. He's a very wild sleeper so whichever one of us that slept with him would probably be up all night! So...we decided to go with the King and a Rollaway. We did a "trial run" in a hotel with him a couple weeks ago with this combination and it worked out great. He thought his "bed on wheels" was really cool! Hopefully, it will be "cool" for a whole week!! I just remembered that we are coming for a Convention so....we did book through the Convention desk. They may be a little more "lenient" than the regular CM's when booking. I'd ask about the Rollaway though.

that's kinda weird, I took DD's to a cheerleading competition in Atlanta lst year. I distinctly remember booking a king room at the Renaissance with both of them (6&8at the time). No one questioned it at all. We used to book king all the time when they were little even for the four of us. Actually, the girls pediatrician was a big proponent of the "family bed" concept, it took forever to get them out of our bed! DH worked nights last night, guess where the little(?) angels are right now? Yep, they're piled in our bed and I'm up.

Come to think of it. We did have a king size bed one time at the RPR, but then there was a sofa for my son to sleep on. Maybe that's why there were able to put the three of us in the king size bedroom?

I tried to book POR king room for my dh, dd and myself but they wouldn't let me. My dd loves to snuggle in with us at home in our king bed so this would have been a huge treat for her. But, nothing doing...they wouldn't allow it.

I was able to do this at the Dolphin in October - not via the internet as the # of people came up as to many for the king room but over the phone it was ok.

If your in a Deluxe it should be no problem as they have the day bed and the numbers will work. Otherwise, I would go ahead and book the double double room and then at check in ask if they have a king room available and they may be able to work it out for you. Otherwise you will still all be in the same room so its not like at home when the kids just want to be close - at least for us!! Maybe you could push the two doubles together and have the best of both worlds, just a thought as they may be heavy :)

Have a great trip.

I just requested a King room at POP...the CM at CRO had to add a request for a crib for our 16 m/o DD to the ressie as well. She said that, if she didn't, they wouldn't give us the King room b/c of the three people and one bed.

That's fine... two people are allowed plus a child under 3 in a crib. So you're okay.

 When I made ressies I asked about a king and a rollaway and was told they wouldn't allow a rollaway anymore...fire codes. What gives? That would be ideal for us...and after all, it IS all about ME!!! puckerup:

Please remember that the CM's are limited by what their computers will allow them to do , and what Disney policy is. In a king room, they can only book 2+ (meaning 2 people 3yrs of age and older PLUS one infant) anything other than that will either default to a standard room, or a bigger resort.

They're not doing it to cause you any undue stress, but their hands are tied.
