I couldn't resist adding another Kindle - the new $114 one will be delivered tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing what special offers will be included...

Just wanted to say how much I LOVE my Kindle. My Dad has a Nook Color and we were comparing them over the holiday weekend. Yeah. Don't like his Nook AT ALL. Touch screen and a glare. I'll keep my Kindle!

You'll have to let us know what they are! If I didn't need the 3G I'd get one!

You need a 12 step program! :lmao:

Just in time for Mother's Day...

New graphite Kindle 3G + Wifi
Burnt Orange Like New Lighted Cover
$25 Amazon Gift Card

for a grand total of $223.99

I will pre-load it with all the books I know she'd like from my account and have it charged and ready to read. I'm pretty sure I'll be the favorite kid again after this ;)

I'm sure Kindle is a great product but Kindle and Nook Color is not an apple to apple comparison. Nook color is geared towards tablet, magazines, kids books people while Kindle and Original Nook is geared towards purely book readers.

Just my 2 cents... :thumbsup2

I have the original Nook and it's marvelous. Now that Kindle is talking about adding OD, I will think real hard about getting DH one. DH is an amazon user through and through so we might be a mix ereader household in the future.

OK, I paid for one day shipping and the new Kindle just arrived. Exactly like the other smaller Kindle in every way. The ads are about an inch high at the bottom of the screen - the full page ad shows up only if you have your Kindle in sleep mode.

So far, I like the ads much better than the creepy screensavers - obviously I am being marketed to but I don't mind that. I think the fact that they are in black and white makes them much more unobtrusive.

First offer I took advantage of: choose from a list of 48 books and if you buy one using your VISA card, get $10 credited to your Amazon account. My VISA card is linked to my Amazon account already. Books included Water for Elephants, Hunger Games (and the next two in the series), Last Olympian, a few classics like Sophie's Choice and Animal Farm, and a few collections (Anne of Green Gables, Brontes, etc.) I bought a fairly recent novel I had some interest in (These Things Hidden) for $8.93 and I will get $10 credited to my account at some point - haven't received notification yet.

So, so far I've made $1.07!! haha

No, I wouldn't have bought that book had I not had this special offer, but I'd probably have bought something pretty similar at some point. Actually, I thought I already had Water for Elephants but now I realize I don't so I should have bought that instead because DD17 wants to read it and although I have it in hardback I think she would rather read it on the Kindle. I might buy it anyway...
