My youngest DD is in kindergarten! She has a wonderful teacher. Her name is Ms. Fuqua. She is young, very energetic and truly cares about the kids! Savannah absolutely loves her and school, but still prefers that I walk her into class most mornings. Friday was no exception. It was Polar Express day and the teachers and the students were all wearing their pajamas and she felt funny walking in alone so I went in with her--again!. Her teacher and I were talking about upcoming Christmas projects and I told her I would pick up some supplies for her and bring them that afternoon. When I went into the building that afternoon, Savannah was in the hall getting ready for the car rider line. She whispered to me that Ms. Fuqua got married today!!!!!!I thought maybe they had something pretend that went along with the special day!!!! I walked into her classroom and there were visitors. I looked at Ms. Fuqua and just said "What?????" She said "What?" I told her what Savannah had told me and everyone started laughing! Now, I will tell you what actually happened......
Friday afternoon the principal called Ms. Fuqua to his office for a talk and sent a teacher to stay with her class(there are 15 students in her class). She said she thought she was in trouble or something because he hardly ever calls a teacher to his office in the tone of voice he used. This teacher took the kids to the library and there a man there gave each of the kids a long stemmed rose. He told them that Ms. Fuqua would be coming and would each of them take turns giving the roses to her. He went into the librarian's office. The principal somehow got Ms. Fuqua to the library. Each child gave her a rose. She was so confused! As the last rose was given to her, her boyfriend, her parents and the boyfriends parents step out of the librarian's office. He drops to one knee and proposes to her!!!!!!!!!!!!
Of course she says yes and all the children start jumping up and down with delight. He said he knew how important the kids are to here and wanted them to be a part of the special day also!!!!!!!!!!!Sounds like she has a keeper! He also brought all of the kids decorated cookies. Ms. Fuqua was still on cloud nine when I left(and imagine, it all happened at school while she was in her pj's)!!!!!!
That is a special memory that I don't think Savannah will ever forget! She has talked about it all weekend!!!!!
