my heart goes out to all of you who lost a child. Hugs also to those of you who supported friends, coworkers or patients through such a loss. I cried several times reading these posts.
I wanted to update to note that I got the pictures back yesterday. Both were lovely and well done. One, becaue of the pose I will probably never share. The other is sooooo amazing. She looks like an adorable sleeping baby. The changes didn't change who she was at all but took away the distractions from birth. I am oh so grateful and so very impressed.
Nennie I hope your pictures of your DS come back and make you as pleased as mine.

dakcp how kind of you to release a balloon. I can only imagine how hard that was in your first week. I am sure your compassion helped her and others in similar situations. My big fear is that people will forget (silly in some ways but true). How good of you not to forget.
Tigercat. You are right no amount of time erases the feelings. My grandmother told me about her daughter born more than 50 years before and she cried while telling me about her.
